About Your Trip

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Shaun as you explore the incredible inshore fishing grounds of Choctawhatchee Bay and the surrounding sound areas. With countless hours spent mastering these tides, Captain Shaun knows exactly where to go and how to help you reel in some of the Gulf Coast’s most exciting species. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or brand new to fishing, Captain Shaun’s expertise and friendly approach will ensure you have a fantastic time on the water.

What You’ll Be Fishing For
These inshore waters are packed with action and variety, offering you the chance to target popular species like Jack Crevalle, Redfish, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Mangrove Snapper, Spotted Seatrout, and Flounder. Depending on the time of year, you might also hook into Ladyfish, Pompano, Permit, or even the elusive Tripletail. With such a diverse fishery, there’s always something exciting biting, and Captain Shaun will help you adjust your techniques to match the conditions and the species you’re after.

Fishing Techniques & Trip Features
Captain Shaun offers a variety of fishing styles to suit the day’s conditions and your preferences. You could be fly-lining for Spanish Mackerel, bottom fishing for Redfish, trolling for Mackerel, or casting around docks for Snapper and Flounder. No matter how you fish, Captain Shaun will make sure you’re set up for success, providing all the rods, reels, bait, and tackle you’ll need.

And here’s the best part—you get to keep any legal-sized catches! Captain Shaun will even clean and fillet your fish so you can take it home for a delicious, fresh-caught meal. Just make sure you have a cooler waiting in the car to transport your catch!

The Boat
You’ll fish aboard a 22’ center console, a versatile and comfortable vessel perfect for navigating the bay and sound. With space for up to six passengers and equipped with downriggers, an ice box for your catch, and all the gear you’ll need, this boat is ready for action. Families are more than welcome to join the fun—kids are invited too, as long as they wear appropriately-sized life vests. Be sure to check with Captain Shaun to confirm vest sizes in advance!

What to Bring
Captain Shaun has your fishing needs covered, including rods, reels, tackle, bait, and even your fishing license for the day. All you need to do is show up with the essentials:

Sunglasses (polarized if you have them!)
Sunblock (non-spray is best)
A hat for extra sun protection
Bottled water to stay hydrated
Snacks to keep everyone fueled and happy
Feel free to bring your favorite beverages as well—just give Captain Shaun a heads-up, and he’ll make sure there’s room for them onboard.

Why This Trip?
This is a fully private charter, meaning you’ll have Captain Shaun’s full attention and expertise to make the most of your adventure. Whether you’re a family looking for a fun day out, a group of friends chasing trophy fish, or a solo angler eager to learn new techniques, Captain Shaun will tailor the trip to meet your needs. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and ready to show you why this area is a top-tier fishing destination.
