West Galveston Bay
is known for its productive fishing grounds, featuring a mix of grassy flats, oyster reefs, and winding channels that hold fish year-round. On occasion, Captain Sammy will venture just outside the bay to explore other nearby water bodies, ensuring you always have the best chance of finding a bite. Whether you’re chasing the thrill of a Speckled Trout strike, stalking the flats for tailing Redfish, or hunting Flounder along the bottom, Captain Sammy knows these waters like the back of his hand and will put you on the fish.

Your trip will take place aboard Captain Sammy’s 22’ SVT Tran Cat, a versatile fishing machine built for both shallow water and open bay fishing. With plenty of room for comfort and performance, this boat is perfect for drifting the bay or accessing the best wading spots. Whether you prefer to cast from the boat or get in the water for a more hands-on approach, Captain Sammy has you covered.

Captain Sammy provides everything you need to make the most of your trip, including rods, reels, tackle, and artificial lures. If you’d like to fish with live bait, just let him know ahead of time—he’ll have it ready for you at current bait camp prices. To make the most of your trip, be sure to bring a valid Texas fishing license, sunscreen, sunglasses, food, drinks, and an ice chest to take your cleaned fish home in.
