About Your Trip

From July 15th through August, the Rogue Bay in Gold Beach becomes one of the hottest Chinook Salmon fisheries in the Pacific Northwest! If you’re looking to battle hard-fighting, ocean-fresh Kings, Captain Chris has the trip for you. These summer-run Chinook are big, aggressive, and powerful, making for an unforgettable experience on the water.

Fishing from a well-equipped 22’ jet boat, you'll target Chinook staging in the Rogue Bay before heading upriver. These fish are
fresh from the ocean—strong, fast, and ready to put your skills to the test. Captain Chris will get you dialed in using proven techniques like trolling with bait or spinners, ensuring you’re in the best position for that heart-pounding bite. When a Chinook takes the bait, be ready—these fish hit hard and fight even harder!

Captain Chris provides top-quality rods, reels, and tackle, so all you need to bring is your Oregon fishing license and salmon/steelhead tag, which you can grab online before your trip. Gold Beach in the summer is beautiful, but conditions can change, so dressing in layers is recommended. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen will keep you comfortable, and packing drinks and snacks will keep you fueled for the action.

This trip is great for anglers of all skill levels, and kids are welcome to join in on the fun. Life vests are available—just check with Captain Chris for sizing, or bring your own.

Don't miss your chance to hook into a trophy Chinook Salmon in Rogue Bay this summer—book your trip today and get ready for an epic battle!
