Whether you're an experienced angler or a first-timer, this trip is built around your skill level and fishing goals. Captain Christian knows these waters like the back of his hand and will put you right where the fish are biting.

Cheney Reservoir is home to a variety of species, and you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. If you’re looking for a hard fight, hybrid striped bass and white bass (Wiper) will keep you on your toes. If you’re after a delicious meal, crappie and walleye are prime targets. And for those who love chasing catfish, this lake holds channel cats, blue cats, and flatheads. Of course, there’s also the ever-present white perch—an invasive species that you might hook into whether you mean to or not. The good news? They make excellent bait and are surprisingly tasty.

Captain Christian provides everything you need for a successful trip, including top-quality rods, reels, tackle, and bait. A cooler stocked with bottled water will be on board, and you’re welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks. All you need to bring is a valid Kansas fishing license, a parking pass for the lake (available at the entrance), and a good pair of sunglasses and sunscreen to stay comfortable.

No matter what kind of fishing adventure you’re looking for, Captain Christian will make sure you have a great time on the water. Whether you want to focus on a specific species or just see what’s biting, this trip is all about fun, excitement, and reeling in some serious fish.

You will be responsible for your own gear. Once you book your trip, we'll connect you directly with Christian to discuss details.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, bait, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
