About Your Trip

Get ready for an action-packed day exploring the pristine inshore waters around Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Fort Fisher, Bald Head Island, and Oak Island! This stretch of North Carolina’s coastline is teeming with fish, offering some of the best year-round inshore fishing opportunities in the Cape Fear region. Whether you’re looking to battle bull redfish, hook into speckled trout, or target flounder along the flats, Captain Drew has the expertise and local knowledge to put you on the bite.

Captain Drew is a Wilmington native who has been fishing these waters since childhood. With years of experience navigating the region’s backwaters, tidal creeks, and estuaries, he knows how to find fish—even in spots that other boats can’t reach! His shallow-water skills and passion for fishing make him the perfect guide for both seasoned anglers and beginners alike. Plus, he’s great with kids and loves teaching them the ins and outs of fishing!

Your adventure will take place aboard a fully outfitted 19’ Spyder Flats Boat, built to handle the shallows with ease. Equipped with a Suzuki 115HP motor, GPS navigation, a Motorguide Xi5 trolling motor, and a carbon fiber push pole, this vessel is designed for precision fishing. The large casting deck, polling platform, and multiple live wells ensure a top-tier inshore experience. Whether you prefer sight casting for redfish on the flats, fishing the deep holes for speckled trout, or bottom fishing for black drum and sheepshead, Captain Drew has all the gear and knows how to make it happen.

Sustainability is important to Captain Drew, and he encourages catch-and-release practices, especially for trophy fish, to help preserve the local fishery. However, if you’d like to keep some fish for dinner, you’re welcome to do so within North Carolina Marine Fisheries Regulations.

All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided, so all you need to bring is your favorite snacks, drinks, and sun protection. Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing or a serious fishing adventure, Captain Drew is ready to show you the best of inshore fishing in the Cape Fear region!
