About Your Trip

A short trip for short attention spans. For those not be ready for “big kids” fishing, this is a great way to catch At 2 hours, this is our shortest fishing charter, focused on fun and comfort for the youngest among you. It's a great intro to fishing and we'll likely see dolphins along the way.

The boat itself, immediately sets this trip apart from other charter companies. The Freeman 29 is renowned for its
near perfect size and shape (a Freeman Boatworks High Performance Catamaran), which allows it to glide across choppy water as if it's glass calm. She's got more than enough space, feeling more like a 34' traditional monohull, so the family has plenty of room on board and won't feel crowded.. The gunwales (a boat's "side walls") are nice and high, so you don't have to worry about your little "scrambler" inadvertently going for a swim. You'll feel nice and secure aboard this high-end craft. The quality and workmanship of this custom built boat will speak for itself.

On trips "when the tide is right," we'll incorporate cast netting, which is a traditional way to harvest baitfish. It's a real crowd pleaser especially for the kids and lets them get hands on with some of the smaller critters. We'll fish with rod and reel as well, so the kids have an opportunity to catch their own fish. This is very much a "get involved" fishing charter designed for the kids to have fun fishing!

While we don't have a hard age range or limit for this trip, it tends to work well with just 1 or 2 kids in the roughly 4-8 ish age range. If you're looking for a trip for older kids, teens, or adults who want to actively participate in fishing, then this is *NOT* your best choice. Try our 3hr Family Shark Adventure and other trips as a good alternative.

Owner/Capt Blair grew up exploring the waters of both the Delmarva Peninsula and the Hilton Head Island area since the late 70s. Taking friends and family on boating and fishing adventures turned into a lifelong passion, and in 1996 he turned it into a profession as he began guiding kayak tours on HHI. A few thousand kayakers and a few years later and he became a licensed boat captain, and by 2006 was running his own charter company. Blair now operates the flagship vessel, a Freeman 29 custom center console catamaran. She's a sleek vessel, a virtual "Ferrari of Fishing Boats" and he's excited to share a trip with you. Blair is not only a fishing guide but an engaging host with a wide knowledge of the local waterways and nature. After getting started with family and friends many decades ago, he still follows the same recipe:

"I treat every trip as if it were an outing with my own family." — Capt. Blair
