About Your Trip

Join Hal for a laid-back and highly effective drift fishing trip across the coastal flats, where quiet movement and steady casting create one of the best ways to consistently find inshore fish. This style of fishing is all about letting the boat drift naturally with the wind and tide while anglers work productive water with lures.

As you move across the flats, you’ll be blind casting into potholes, sandy cuts, grass edges, and drop-offs where
fish commonly stage and feed. The quiet nature of the drift allows you to cover water without disturbing the fish, making it an excellent way to “hunt” active schools and isolated feeders throughout the day.

The main target on these trips is Speckled Trout, known for their steady action, strong fights, and excellent table quality. Along the way, you’ll also have opportunities to encounter Flounder lying near the bottom in ambush zones and Redfish cruising the shallows or holding around structure and current breaks.

Drift trips are especially well-suited for small groups of two or three anglers, as well as families with children. The simple, relaxed setup keeps everyone involved without the need for constant repositioning or complicated techniques, making it easy for beginners while still productive enough for experienced anglers.

Hal adjusts each drift based on conditions like wind, tide, and water clarity, ensuring you’re always moving through areas with the highest likelihood of fish activity. Every pass across the flats presents new water and new opportunities, keeping the experience engaging and dynamic.

If you’re looking for a quiet, low-stress inshore fishing trip that still can yield consistent action, Hal’s drift fishing is a great way to enjoy the flats while targeting some of the most popular inshore species.

Not a bad trip. A little odd having to meet at his house and then ride with home to launch the boat other than that he knew what he was talking about

Had a blast with captain Hal. He did everything thing he could to get us on fish. We had a limit of fish. The best experience I’ve had on a guided trip. I highly recommend captain Hal with inshore fishing.

Hal was great! After getting the run around by two other guides, Hal stepped in to the rescue. We were a little worried because he was cheaper than most but that has nothing to do with his fishing abilities. He drove us to a more private boat ramp away from all the crowds and jet skis. We drifted in peace and quiet and probably caught between the 3 of us 50
