About Your Trip

Head out for a classic Long Island fishing adventure with Captain Steve, a seasoned pro with over 25 years of experience navigating the south shore’s productive waters. Whether you’re chasing that personal best Striper or just looking to spend a laid-back day on the water with the family, Captain Steve knows exactly where to go and how to put you on the fish.

Your trip will take place aboard a powerful and well-equipped 36’ Cape
Horn center console, powered by triple 300HP Yamaha engines. This boat is built for both comfort and capability, offering a smooth ride whether you’re fishing the sheltered bays or venturing into the ocean on a full-day trip—weather permitting. With a capacity for up to six passengers, it’s the perfect setup for families, small groups, or a few buddies looking to hook into something serious.

Most trips stay inshore, exploring the bay’s channels, flats, and structure-rich bottoms where you’re likely to target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Blackfish, and Tautog. Depending on the conditions and time of year, techniques can range from trolling for Stripers and Blues to bottom fishing for Fluke and Tog. Captain Steve has all the gear you’ll need, including both light and heavy tackle setups, so whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting your sea legs, you’ll be set up for success.

On full-day trips, there’s always the potential to head out into the ocean to chase down bigger fish or explore new grounds—but only if the weather plays nice. Half-day trips are bay-focused, keeping things relaxed and close to shore while still offering plenty of action.

Captain Steve is all about making the trip fun and accessible, especially for families. Kids are welcome aboard, and if you don’t have a child-sized life jacket, just give a heads-up to make sure one’s available. A little planning goes a long way: bring your favorite snacks (especially for the little ones), a hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen. Cold drinks are provided, and you’re welcome to bring adult beverages—just no glass bottles or hard liquor, please.

There’s no need to purchase a fishing license—Captain Steve’s got that covered. All rods, reels, and lures are included, and live bait may be used depending on the day’s game plan. Be sure to ask in advance if you’ll be catching bait as part of the experience.

From casting in calm backwaters to working the tide lines for Stripers, this trip offers the perfect blend of local expertise, high-quality equipment, and laid-back vibes. Whether you're out to land dinner or make memories, Captain Steve is ready to show you a great day on the water.
