About Your Trip

Spend the day offshore with Captain Austin on a versatile fishing trip that takes you up to 35 miles from shore, where deeper reefs, hard bottom structure, and productive pelagic corridors hold a wide range of hard-fighting Gulf species. This is a full-day style offshore experience built around covering water, reading conditions, and adapting between trolling and bottom fishing to stay on active fish.

As you push offshore, the water begins to shift into deeper
blue zones where bait stacks over structure and currents sweep across natural and artificial reefs. Trolling stretches along the way keep lines in the water for fast-moving predators like king mackerel and barracuda. These fish bring quick, explosive action, often striking near the surface and testing both speed and reflexes as they make long, powerful runs beside the boat.

Once you reach bottom fishing grounds, the focus shifts to structure where reef species concentrate. Vermilion snapper provide steady action over hard bottom, while grouper and amberjack bring heavier, more powerful fights that test strength and gear. Triggerfish may also show up around reef edges, adding variety to the mix and keeping the bite active throughout the day. Each drop is an opportunity, and productive spots can stack multiple species in a single stop.

Captain Austin provides all fishing gear and licenses, so the trip stays streamlined and focused on fishing from start to finish. The boat is set up for offshore efficiency, allowing you to move comfortably between trolling runs and anchored bottom fishing setups as conditions dictate. With experienced guidance on where to stop and how to fish each area, you’ll always be working water with purpose.

All you need to bring are your food and drinks for the day to stay fueled and comfortable while offshore. From the first trolling pass leaving the inlet to the final deep drop over structure, this trip is built for anglers who want variety, steady action, and access to some of the Gulf’s most productive offshore fishing grounds within a manageable run distance.
