Join Josh for a 4-hour nearshore fishing trip in the Gulf, designed as a fun and approachable introduction to local saltwater fishing while still offering the chance to bring home fresh fish for dinner. This trip is ideal for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a relaxed time on the water with steady action and a variety of potential catches.

Depending on conditions and what’s active on the day of your trip, you’ll either be trolling nearshore waters for fast-moving pelagic species like Spanish Mackerel and other seasonal visitors, or switching gears to bottom fishing over productive structure. These nearshore spots can hold a mix of species including Snapper, Seatrout, Pompano, and other reef and structure-oriented fish, giving you multiple opportunities throughout the trip.

The trolling portion of the trip focuses on covering water and finding schools of feeding fish. When conditions line up, mackerel can provide fast-paced action with plenty of hookups and exciting runs. If the bite is better near the bottom, Josh will shift tactics to ensure you’re fishing the most productive areas available that day.

This is a very hands-on, beginner-friendly experience where Josh will walk you through everything from basic casting and bait presentation to reeling in and handling fish once hooked. No prior fishing experience is needed, and all gear is provided, making it easy to simply show up and enjoy the day.

Beyond the fishing, the goal of this trip is to give you a relaxed and enjoyable time on the Gulf while learning the basics of saltwater angling. Whether you're hoping to catch your first saltwater fish or simply enjoy time on the water, this 4-hour nearshore trip offers a great mix of education, excitement, and the potential for a fresh catch to take home.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Josh will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 5 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 5 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
