About Your Trip

Chase Striped Bass & Albies with Captain Andrew on Long Island’s East End

Get ready to explore one of the most exciting and diverse fisheries on the East Coast aboard a 23’ SeaCraft with Captain Andrew. From the cool, productive waters off Orient Point to the legendary Fall blitzes of Montauk, this light tackle and fly fishing trip delivers fast-paced action, stunning scenery, and a personalized experience for anglers of all levels.

Running July through
early September, your trip begins in the pristine summer waters near The Gull Islands, Fishers Island, Gardeners Island, and Orient Point. These cooler zones are loaded with baitfish—and where there’s bait, big striped bass and bluefish are never far behind.

Captain Andrew will guide you through it all, whether you’re casting flies to cruising bass along the flats or hooking into bluefish in open water rips. The summer season on the East End may fly under the radar, but the action is real—and the rewards can be unforgettable.

From September 15 to October 15, the 23’ SeaCraft shifts east to Montauk, where the infamous Fall Run takes center stage. This is prime time for light tackle and fly anglers looking to test their skills against aggressive schools of striped bass, bluefish, and the lightning-fast false albacore.

Montauk Point is famous for a reason—bait balls explode at the surface, birds dive, and gamefish tear through the chaos in a frenzy. You’ll be in the middle of it all with Captain Andrew, who knows exactly where to put you for the best shot at that fish-of-a-lifetime.

Born and raised in the rhythm of East End tides, Captain Andrew brings a lifetime of experience and a deep love for these waters to every charter. He welcomes anglers of all skill levels and offers a variety of trip styles, including flats fishing, fly fishing, spin fishing, and family-friendly outings.

His 23’ SeaCraft is the perfect vessel for this fishery—fast, stable, and rigged for a range of techniques. Whether you’re sight-casting in skinny water or chasing albies across the open sound, you’ll be fully equipped with quality rods, reels, and tackle, all provided as part of the trip.

Book now to experience the best of Long Island’s East End with Captain Andrew—whether it’s your first time holding a rod or your hundredth blitz at Montauk

About Your Guide

Andrew D.

Independent Guide
Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned angler, a day on the water with Captain Andrew is all about discovering the dynamic fishery of Long Island’s East End. Specializing in fly fishing and light tackle spin fishing, Andrew brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the saltwater scenes that unfold from May through November across Peconic Bay, Plum Island, The Gulls, The Race, Plum Gut, Fisher’s Island, and the legendary waters off Montauk.

Captain Andrew’s
story starts in the Adirondack Mountains, where summers spent on the Ausable River sparked a lifelong love for fly fishing. That passion carried him south to the Florida Keys in the late ‘90s, where he launched his guiding career on the saltwater flats. His journey has taken him across the globe—from the turquoise shallows of the Seychelles to the serene rivers of upstate New York—before settling in the East End over a decade ago to fully immerse himself in one of the Northeast’s most celebrated fisheries.

Since becoming a Coast Guard licensed captain in 1999, Andrew has combined technical expertise with an infectious enthusiasm for teaching and exploring. The ever-changing seasonal patterns and migrating baitfish in these waters create a constantly shifting challenge, and Andrew’s deep local knowledge allows him to adapt his approach, making each trip feel like a fresh adventure.

With Captain Andrew at the helm, you’ll not only cast to Striped Bass and Bluefish in pristine surroundings—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the rhythms and richness of this vibrant marine environment. Come ready to learn, explore, and experience the East End like a local.
