About Your Trip

If you're looking for a true bucket-list fishing adventure, it's hard to top an overnight Yellowfin Tuna trip with Captain Mike. This is not your typical day on the water. You'll travel more than 100 miles offshore from Galveston into the deep blue waters of the Gulf, spending an entire night on the ocean in pursuit of one of the most powerful and sought-after game fish in North America.

The journey itself is part of
what makes this trip so memorable. As you leave the Texas coastline behind, the water gradually transforms from coastal green to the rich blue color associated with the Gulf's most productive offshore waters. The farther offshore you travel, the more isolated and wild the experience becomes. By the time you arrive on the fishing grounds, you'll be surrounded by open ocean and some of the best tuna habitat in the Gulf.

Overnight trips offer a major advantage when targeting Yellowfin Tuna. Instead of racing to the fishing grounds, squeezing in a few hours of fishing, and heading back to shore, you'll have extended time where the fish live and feed. This allows Captain Mike to take advantage of changing conditions, feeding windows, and nighttime opportunities that simply aren't available on shorter trips. Tuna behavior often changes throughout the day and night, and having extra time on the water creates more chances to capitalize when the bite turns on.

As darkness settles over the Gulf, the experience takes on a completely different atmosphere. The stars shine brighter than most people have ever seen, the sounds of the ocean become more pronounced, and anticipation builds with every bait dropped and every line set. Some anglers choose to stay actively engaged throughout the night, while others take advantage of downtime to rest before the next round of fishing. Either way, spending the night offshore is an unforgettable experience that few anglers ever get to enjoy.

You'll be fishing aboard a 39-foot triple-engine Contender center console built for serious offshore adventures. The boat comfortably accommodates up to six anglers and offers plenty of deck space for fighting fish and moving around during the action. Ample shade provides relief during daylight hours, while the onboard bathroom and kitchen area make extended offshore trips far more comfortable.

Captain Mike provides all rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing equipment needed for the trip. His knowledge of offshore structure, currents, and tuna movements helps put anglers in position for exciting opportunities throughout the adventure.

Whether you're a seasoned offshore angler or chasing your first tuna, this overnight trip delivers an unmatched combination of adventure, blue-water fishing, and time spent on some of the Gulf's most productive offshore grounds. Bring your favorite snacks, sun protection, and a readiness for an unforgettable experience far beyond the Texas coast.

Main goal was to put my son on some nice redfish and last stop paid off with four redfish in less than 20 minutes. Would have liked one slot but that is why they call it fishing and I’ll take 4 rats over nothing any day. We did get some specs and sand trout to take home. Best part was back at the dock when we rigged up a sand trout and son Hooked into a huge alligator gar that he fought for almost ten minutes. Thanks again for a enjoyable trip.

Coordination was iffy from the get go. We booked with "Mike" who had great reviews instead of the other trip that did not have great reviews and was from Hitchcock. After an early morning text (30 minutes before we were supposed to be there) we were told we would be with a different guide and it would indeed be out of Hitchcock.

We were paired with a guide who was extremely vulgar, made my girlfriend extremely
uncomfortable (hit on her all day), and did a poor job cleaning the fish. The fish were then thrown into our cooler without bags or any idea of what was what and the filets were cut like crap. Would never use this guide again and made me think twice about the service in general.

We caught 3 fish and it was a beautiful day so I'll throw an extra star on here. The booking system seems to be close to being great but was disappointed (and a bit pissed off) to say the least.

Hi John, thank you for your feedback but I must say this review surprises me as the captain forwarded me a text directly from you thanking him for a GREAT morning (I will attach if it allows me) and he kept y'all out for almost 2 extra hours since fishing was slow because he said y'all were awesome folks and he enjoyed your company and wanted to put more fish in the box. Fishing was super slow yesterday and the captain networked calling various other guides that voiced the same outcome and that just happens sometimes.
As far as booking "Hitchcock",yes the address which is displayed on this 3rd party site is Hitchcock but it is on Galveston's West Bay so it is fishing out of Galveston and the address was again given to you the day before in the very detailed email we send out from us directly so it was not changed on you 30 minutes prior to the trip.

Reviews list different captains on our listing with this site so there was no misleading you that only captain Mike runs trips. We have 4 boats and 5 captains so Captain Mike is not a guarantee and no requested were made for a specific guide.

As far as language, when a captain calls me and says man this group cussed like sailors (before you even reviewed) that means something because they get a lot of vulgar language on the boats and the captains read the customers and blend in with them.
Tipping $200 and sending a personal text to the captain thanking him suggests a much difference experience than voiced on this 3rd party site.

Thanks again and please feel free to email me directly with any additional questions or comments.
