About Your Trip

Join us for a unique experience targeting tarpon at night in Miami. Trips leave at or after sunset and last for around 4 hours, depending on the time of the year. This is a perfect charter for someone looking for something different to do on a work trip or who just wants to avoid the heat of the summer sun while still targeting tarpon.

Targeting tarpon on the fly in Miami is a unique experience
that few get to enjoy. For trips targeting tarpon specifically, we focus on specific tides where getting 6-10 fish inhaling your fly isn't uncommon. Getting them to the boat is another story, and often requires as much luck as it does skill. If the tides aren't great for a tarpon-focused trip, we can fish dock lights for snook, snapper, and an occasional tarpon.

All equipment is provided. Just bring a sweatshirt or jacket during the winter - it can get chilly at night on the water, especially when running at speed. We'll have a cooler with ice on board and some water, but feel free to bring any snacks you want. Alcohol in moderation is allowed, but no glass bottles.

Trips will leave from various locations depending on conditions and client location. On-the-water pickups from hotels or houses may be possible - just ask!

We specialize in nighttime fly fishing trips for tarpon in Miami. Targeting tarpon at night can offer you fantastic opportunities at landing the Silver King on the fly. Our average fish is between 40-60 lbs, but there's always a chance at running into a triple digit giant. The start times will vary depending on the season and tides, so coordinate with Captain Jeff once you book to adjust your start time. Tarpon fishing quality also varies depending on tide, so if you have flexibility, I'll work with you on the best dates. If you're less concerned about targeting tarpon on the best days, and don't mind going after snook and snapper on the dock lights as well as the occasional tarpon, we can work around your schedule rather than the tides.

Pork belly tacos
How did you get started guiding?
I discovered I was having more fun putting my friends on the nighttime tarpon than I was catching them myself, so it was the natural segue.
