About Your Trip

There's a fish with your name on it in West Palm Beach and we will help you catch it!

Depending on the season, you might hook into Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Black Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Red Grouper, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, and whatever else is biting. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Derik
also offers kite fishing.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!

You'll step aboard a 29' Latitude center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Derik will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 16–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

A few items to bring include a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be bottled water on board, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip!

I’ve been fishing before I could walk. My father had me on the boat since I was an infant. Driving the boat at 5. For my 13th birthday he gave me a 13’ Boston Whaler, and by 15 I was on the water by myself. I’m born and raised in South Florida, fishing these waters my entire life every chance I could get.

My favorite targets are the pelagics offshore—wahoo, dolphin (mahi), and kingfish are always at the top of
my list. I live for the speed, the power, and the unpredictability they bring. When I’m chasing a different kind of thrill, I’ll set up the kite and fly live baits for sailfish—there’s nothing like watching that bill pop up behind the bait.

When the wind and current align just right, I shift gears and drop down over structure for mutton snapper and grouper—fishing deep, working the bottom, waiting for that unmistakable thump. And when the weather turns rough, I don’t head for home—I shift inshore. You’ll find me tucked into the mangroves or along seawalls, targeting sheepshead, jack crevalle, and even goliath grouper.

No matter the conditions, I’m fishing. It’s not just a hobby—it’s how I was raised, and it's who I am.
