Well, you've either got to catch one yourself… or know somebody who does. Snook aren't something you're going to walk into the grocery store and buy.

Well, you've either got to catch one yourself… or know somebody who does. Snook aren't something you're going to walk into the grocery store and buy.
Here in the Indian River Lagoon region, recreational Snook harvest opens September 1 and runs through December 14. You can keep one Snook per person, per day, and it has to measure at least 28 inches and no more than 32 inches total length.
Anything smaller or bigger goes back to fight another day.
And remember — that 35-inch monster might make a great picture, but she doesn't make dinner. 📸🎣
🐟 ONE OF MY FAVORITE WAYS TO CATCH SNOOK
Live mullet. I love fishing a live mullet along a seawall during an incoming tide or during the first hour or two of the outgoing tide.
I'll usually throw the cast net and catch a few, then keep them alive in my livewell. A five-gallon bucket with a lid and bubbler works too... And trust me on the lid.
Mullet have an impressive ability to discover freedom the second you're not looking. 😂
Make sure you're fishing stout tackle with a strong leader. A good Snook isn't going to politely swim toward the boat. She's going to smoke the drag and head straight for the nearest dock piling, seawall, mangrove root or underwater obstruction.

Trip: Iguana Hunting Insanity
Captain Ricky was an awesome guy. It was a full moon, rainy,windy type day and he did about all he could do to get us on fish. The only improvement I felt he could make better for his clients is having Right and Left handed reels onboard. Both of us felt awkward using left side handled bait casting reels.

This was hands down one of the highlights of our entire trip! We had an absolutely amazing fishing experience and caught a TON of mahi-mahi! 🎣🐟 The boys had the best time and are still talking about how much fun they had. Chris and Robb were incredible—so friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and educational. They took the time to teach the boys throughout the trip and made the entire experience fun and memorable for our whole family. Afterward, they filleted all of the fish for us, and we were able to take it home and cook it that very same day for the entire family. It doesn’t get much fresher than eating the fish you just caught! It made the experience even more special. We made so many wonderful memories that day, and it’s something our boys will remember for a very long time. If you’re looking for an unforgettable fishing experience, we absolutely recommend Chris and Robb. We would do it again in a heartbeat! Definitely the highlight of our trip! ❤️🎣

Trip: Offshore Fishing
Kenny and Joey are the true salty gents of Florida fishing. They know the reefs, wrecks, fish, bait, rigs, locations, tides and currents to get hooked up. I wouldn't use the Captains Charter to book them again because of the hidden charges. Tight lines!!!

I have been on trips that ended up with a 400 lb Goliath grouper! Also have chartered several trips with Stokes Walker in Destin! He now belongs to the gulf! Buried at sea! This is the worst experience I have ever had! Last time for me!

Our group had a great Iguana hunting trip with Dominic! We found and shot a lot of iguanas and recommend the experience for everyone.

Ryan was our Captain for the day. He tried his best but no luck. The seaweed didn’t help. We had a couple bites on live bait but they avoided the hook. Maybe next time.
