About Your Trip

Get ready for a serious offshore adventure with Captain Dexter on this 16-hour canyon trip targeting Tuna, Tilefish, Swordfish, and more! If you’re looking to test your strength against some of the ocean’s most powerful game fish — and bring home some incredible table fare — this is the trip for you.

Running from June through October, these full-day offshore trips take you deep into the famed Northeast canyons aboard a sleek 36’ Contender Fisharound.
Outfitted with twin engines, an air-conditioned cabin, and a full bathroom, this boat is built for speed, comfort, and extended time on the water. It’s the perfect platform for chasing pelagic giants while still having a comfortable space to rest, regroup, and refuel between hook-ups.

You’ll typically depart around 3:00 AM to get a jump on the bite and make the most of your time offshore. Once you’re out in the canyons, you’ll use a combination of trolling, chunking, and jigging techniques to target hard-charging species like Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna. Deep dropping with electric reels is also on the table for Tilefish and Swordfish — so whether you’re chasing the daytime sword bite or stacking up tasty deepwater catches, Captain Dexter has you covered.

All gear, bait, and tackle are included, and top-of-the-line equipment is ready to go for every technique — whether you’re jigging for tuna on spinning setups or dropping down 800 feet for a golden tile. There’s room for up to 5 anglers, keeping the rail clear and ensuring everyone gets in on the action without feeling crowded.

These trips are packed with excitement and offer the chance to experience the incredible biodiversity and electric bite that the Northeast canyons are famous for. From the moment you set lines to the final ride home, this is offshore fishing at its finest.
