Recent Reviews of Captain Experiences

  • ★★★★★
Oh, man, let me tell you about this fishing charter in Galveston. If you want an adventure on the high seas that rivals Moby Dick without the depressing ending, book a trip with Captain Sean and his first mate Abbie. These folks know their stuff. So, we start the day with my stepdad, bless his heart, hooking a stingray. Yeah, you read that right. He thought he was reeling in a sea monster. The water was choppy, and I was starting to think this was gonna be a long day of nothing but stories about the one that got away. But Captain Sean, the Gandalf of the Gulf, says, "Hold my beer," and finds us the perfect spot. The man’s a fish whisperer. I don't know how he does it. One minute, we’re fighting the waves, thinking we’re gonna spend the day swapping sea shanties, and the next, we’re reeling in trout like it’s a fish buffet. Captain Sean knows every nook and cranny of that ocean like it’s his backyard. And let’s not forget Abbie, the deckhand. She’s like the ninja of fishing. You need a new bait? She’s got it before you even ask. Tangled line? She’s on it. The only thing she can’t do is make your stepdad catch anything other than weird sea creatures. By the end of the trip, we had caught our limit. We were tired, sunburned, and grinning like idiots. It was one of those days you remember forever. If you’re looking for a fishing trip that’ll make you feel like you’re in a Hemingway novel, do yourself a favor and book with Captain Sean and Abbie. Five stars aren’t enough for these legends.

Storm the day before put the bite off, but we caught lots of Catfish, several near 5 lbs, so my grandson enjoyed that. Capt Mike worked for his money, constantly repositioning the boat to our advantage & taking us out to try for Sharks upon our request. He kept the language clean, which, knowing alot of Sailors, was a bonus...He also made sure my grandson had an approved life vest & hooked and passed a couple of the bigger fish to him. Overall, I'd charter with him again for sure. A+++

We had an amazing time with Captain Steve and Chris. They were very knowledgeable about the areas and where good spots to fish were. We visited several different spots inshore and caught tons of fish! They were absolutely incredible when it came to showing us how to use the fishing poles, bait the hooks and helping us once we caught the fish. If we had any questions/issues with the poles, they helped us out. My family and I had an incredible time with them and were surprised at how much we caught! Captain Steve even cleaned the fish for us and bagged up the fillets so we did not need to worry about that. All around great time and my family is already talking about taking another trip out with them later this year.

Captain Jonathan was awesome! Very honest and upfront about weather conditions and what fish to expect to catch. Captain was very friendly and helpful! When fish weren’t bitting, captain was Johnny on the spot to get us to a new spot in order to catch fish. We had a great time on our 6 hour trip and came back with plenty to eat! We would recommend Captain Johnathan 10 times out of 10!

Whenever I'm in Galveston or Houston for conventions group of us charters a fishing trip. Charles put us on fish and we put a variety of species in the boat...no limits, but fishing was steady. He unhooked and baited us up all day.. We typically fish CC to Pt Isabel in the Laguna Madre 15 or more times a year and boat 50 plus Trout each limits oof reds drum and flounder. We are experienced and I have a 23' Shoalwater and have fished the area since I was 10 years old. I have won numerous inshore tournaments inncluding THe Pt A DSR twice and Pt Mansfiield Tournament. over the years. Capt Charles knows the water and we found working bait... ifyou got baitfish... you have preditors. Great trip. Buster Williams
