When the weather is warm, the trout and redfish are on the bars.Just outside of the mouth of the river, or in the mouths of deep creeks. My preferred method is shrimp on a jighead.
We're soft plastics call jighead.
We're also getting bonus sheepshead black drum and flounder.
Offshore, we have one more weekend of red. Snapper, open until june. The bite has been decent.
Live sardines and thread, fin herring work best, but frozen will get the job done.

Merry christmas!

The big trout are leaving the creeks and fattening up for the spawn. Lots of things work pinfish, mud minnows, shrimp. But the go to is a eighth ounce jig head red or pink works best with a soft plastic in is gold and glow, golden brim or watermelon regulator. Is work those in deeper troughs and creeks mouths.

Exciting time here along the forgotten coast. There's chrome in the water. In the last week, things have really turned around. Our weather patterns have gotten their act together, the water has warmed up and the early season tarpon are showing up. We are getting them dialed in and launching silver king rockets every chance we can. Fishing tarpon around the correct tide allows for some fun days fishing redfish then changing gears and chasing tarpon.

The weather is starting to break here on the Forgotten Coast. Just in time for spring break, redfish are invading the flats, and oh boy, are they hungry? Fish have been seen cruising the outside bars and chasing the tide up to the shoreline. A well-placed fly, soft plastic, or gold spoon has been getting the job done. Take a trip south to Apalachicola and let me introduce you to our hot inshore fishery.

It's time to start herding sheepshead. We look for them on structure in 25 yo 50 feet of water. A Crustacean of your choice, With a enough lead to hold it down and a small hook. I prefer eagle claw Style 85, they are good and sharp right out of the package and cheap, easy enough to cut off and retire. Moose has a very respectable fish

With the temperature fluctuating so much the fish like to find deeper holes, many different baits are working. Jigheads are the best, I prefer soft plastics like the saltwater assassin, as far as color I can't nail one down. Shrimp also work well, 1/4 Jighead moved painfully slow. We have a wide open calendar.

Trout are on fire. Edges of holes, channels edges and any place where the water temperatures are stable. It is hard to beat your favorite soft plastics on a jig head. If the bite slows add a popping cork.

Apalachicola fishing is heating up as the weather turns cold. Redfish are haunting the creeks and flats, foraging on everything they can find to eat. Soft plastics and flies make excellent offerings this time of year. Off the beaches Bull redfish are starting to invade the shoals and inshore sandbars, chasing schools of baitfish and shrimp. Poppers and topwaters have been getting smashed with explosive frequency. All in all, if you can brave the cold, the fishing is quite hot!

Great day on the bay with Captain Dwayne. He was super patient with our grandsons ages 8 and 13. We had a total group of nine. I was in the boat with Captain Dwayne, my wife , daughter-in-law and two grandsons. We had a second boat which Dwayne had arranged with Captain Tommy, my two sons and two granddaughters ages 11 and 13.we kept 68 fish between the two boats!! We all had a fun time. Thanks Dwayne and Tommy!!!

My and my 2 boys had a great time with Brock. He was an absolute delight! He knows the area and when to literally cut bait. We caught enough to feed 17 and still had time to go for the big ones! I would highly recommend Brock! Great Guy!!

We had a great charter with Allen! He was very knowledgeable, put us in some great spots, and easy to talk to throughout the day. We especially appreciated how kind Allen was to our 10 yr old son and that he took the time to teach him about being on the water during the trip.

I will say I have gone on mini guided fishing trips and Brock was by far the nicest most accommodating boat captain I have ever met. Walking on with three small kids under the age of 10 you never know how the captains will react. Brock was an absolute pleasure with the kids never did I since frustration or him being annoyed at all. My 10 year-old caught a 29 inch and a 28 inch red. What an experience would highly recommend Brock.
