Despite the Cold Weather Despite the weather being alittle chilly on some days the fishing has been pretty good. We have been getting some really nice redfish and speckled trout. On the days the weather was not freezing and we were able to get on the water the fish were willing to bite. Getting live shrimp has been challangingdue to the water temps, but mud minnows have worked just fine. Using the floating cork over structure has worked well. Also have been using a 1/4 ounce jighead on the bottom aslo produced.

Black Seabass are still biting and so are the grouper. Grouper are closed until May 1st but plenty of Seabass to go around inside 24 miles.

As February rolls in, the warming trend is beginning to take effect in Jacksonville, pushing water temperatures up and signaling transitions in fish behavior. With air temperatures creeping into the low 80s°F, anglers should expect an uptick in activity across inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters. Inshore Fishing Redfish – Sight fishing for redfish remains strong, especially on the flood tides in the grass and during the low tide around mud flats. With the water clearing up due to cooler temperatures, a stealthy approach and finesse presentations (like soft plastics or live shrimp) are key. As the water warms, expect more redfish moving toward deeper structure and docks.

They're very delicious to eat and you'll have plenty of bycatch between gag groupers, red snappers, triggerfish and other bottom dwellers.

Speckled Trout and Redfish have been really good over the last few weeks. The drop in water temperature has turned them on. Live shrimp under float rigs and artificials are both effective.

Speckled Trout Fishing Heating Up These past few days on the water has been awsome. The water has cooled down some and the trout are biting. The trips have been getting numbers of 30 and 40 speckled trout with plenty of keepers for the dinner table. Rigging the rods with 10 pound Fins braided line with a slip cork, 20 pound floracarbon leader and a Eagleclaw 1/0 circle sea hook with a live shrimp has been great. The bite has been good on artificial baits too using the Bass Assasson Sea Shad in the lighter colors. There also have been some nice redfish being caught in the mix. Finding the structure such as oyster beds and pilons have been the ticket to getting on these fish

Very enjoyable day on the water! Austin worked hard to get us on fish. My wife kicked my butt with quantity but size matters, right?!

Awesome experience with David. He is a great guy, easy to talk with, and a lot of experience. We had a fun time and caught plenty fish with David (and normally i never catch anything). We are already planning our next trip with David, couldn't recommend more!

Such a great experience! The captain had a great attitude and was really fun. The weather was a little off and very windy, but he still made everything fun. I appreciated his knowledge of the waterways and taking us through some different parts of the inshore areas. It was fun to see the shoreline from the water and we even hooked a few fish despite the weather. The whole group had a fantastic experience and I will be booking with Captain Bill again!

Our trip with Capt Bill was OUTSTANDING! Great boat, great teacher—my grandson learned an amazing amount about how to catch fish. I would strongly recommend Capt Bill to anyone who wants to have great fun, learn a lot, and catch great fish!!!

Our family had a great time with Captain Scott! His first mate Jimmy was so enthusiastic and really wanted to help us all catch big fish. My young adult kids rated the experience an 11 out of 10. Overall we caught 4 King Mackerals (and a few sharks that we threw back). Scott recommended a local restaurant (The Salty Pelican) that would prepare our catch, so we enjoyed a delicious lunch after our morning on the boat.
