Early November Fishing Report
Heading into November and the holidays at the end of the month, there are lots of great fishing opportunities ready to bite!

It is snook season till the end of the month, so now is the time to catch and eat one of the best-tasting fish in all of the land. Just about every trip has been providing a shot at a nice fish or two, and the bite is endless for the smaller ones on light tackle. They are eating pilchards, and right pilchards are abundant and easy to catch for a day of fishing.
Redfish are also eating pilchards, and this is that time of the year that trophy redfish and trophy snook can be caught at every inshore spot we fish!
Spotted Seatrout are starting to show up on every trip, and mangrove snapper are a non-stop source if delicious action!
The other big excitement going on right now are the big tarpon! They are stacked up in and around the passes and beaches, and they are here in force. They are gonna be here feeding heavily until the cold snaps cool off their bite, as they head south into the Keys and Everglades. They eat just about any bait we put in front of em, but they love a big mullet.
The fun-sized 10-30 pound tarpon are all over the backcountry bays and creeks and provide one of the ultimate acrobatic battles!

October is normally one of my favorite months for fishing particularly offshore. Due to heavy 15 to 25 mph Northeast winds and rainy conditions, offshore has been a no go. However, I can get out for my Stone Crab charters where I pull my traps, harvest the claws and give to the guests. The Stone Crab fishery is truly sustainable, I prefer not keep inshore fish due to the pressure they face. We then head inshore for catch & release redfish, snook, trout and crevalle jacks. This past week was blowing hard out of the north but we're still seeing fish in clean water out of the winds. Mostly reds and snook but with the start of stone crab season people are reporting triple tail on the buoys outside on the beaches when the weather cooperates. There's still a multitude of sharks in the sound which can be a blast to target on a fly rod in shallow water. Go out and explore!

Fishing has been really good, the water temperature is starting to drop a little bit and it's getting the fish to move around a lot more!

The bite in Estero Bay has been as good as it gets. The redfish are chewing shrimp tipped jig heads around the mangroves and oyster bars on high tides! Double digit numbers daily with plenty of slot size fish for dinner! Now is a great time to get out bend rods and make some memories.

Bait is still solid in Charlotte harbor. Still plenty of big and small tarpon. Snook are plentiful as they begin their usual migration up the rivers and are fattening up. 50 to 60 FISH days are common right now and it will continue until we get our first cold front. Going forward we will concentrate on trout and sheepshead when it does cool down, but as long as the water temperatures remain good almost everything will bite

The nearshore bites been strong with lots of cobia, a great goliath bite and lots of jacks and Spanish mackerel. The cobia are eating 2-3 inch pilchards and the goliaths are eating whatever big bait you can get to them however the hard parts stopping them!

Drew is a great captain. We tried for some larger snook, got a couple big ones on the line, but due to user error didn’t get them in the boat. We also got some snapper, trout, lady, cat and some other small ones. He was at the ramp early with fresh caught bait. He shared stores and we made good friends with him before we left.
