Fishing Report for September has been fantastic!
The water temperatures have been starting to cool, ever so slightly, the bait is all over the beaches, and the fish in the back country are responding with vigorous appetites! The afternoon rains that have been very consistent have fired up the tarpon bite, and pushed those fun size tarpon down from the remote, tree covered creeks, into waters we can get baits to em!
If you want a snook, we are catching 20-30 each trip...mostly small, in the 20-24 inch size, with big slot sized chunks mixed in. That's non stop action...

If you want a snook, we are catching 20-30 each trip...mostly small, in the 20-24 inch size, with big slot sized chunks mixed in. That's non stop action on light tackle, and pilchards that even ol veteran guides love to spend a morning or afternoon bending some rods and ripping some lips!
Mixed in with those snook are countless mangrove snappers. These delicious fighters can add up quickly for anyone in the mood to eat what they catch.
Redfish are certainly eating, and the cooler waters have them ready to chase live bait again, as are some really nice spotted seatrout.
The funsized tarpon are my favorite fish to catch this time of year. Catching 20 to 30 pound fish, tail walking, jumping 4 feet in the air, and just being a light tackle menace is what it's all about!
Don't forget, in another 8 days, snook will be in season to keep, and there isn't a better fish to eat in all of Florida, so don't hesitate to call or book a trip if you want to get out on the water for a morning or afternoon of non stop fishing action, along with the chance for a trophy, or some flat out excellent table fare. All within minutes of the boat ramp!

Naples & Marco Island Snook Fishing
Snook fishing has been excellent all summer, and I’ve been finding them in a variety of locations, from the passes and beaches to areas with strong current and structure. Snook fishing in Marco Island and Naples has been particularly productive, and we’ve had great success sight-fishing for snook along the beaches using live bait, as well as fly fishing. One of the biggest advantages of summer fishing in Southwest Florida is the gin-clear water in the Gulf of America, which creates incredible sight-fishing opportunities. Snook sight fishing in Marco Island is one of my...

Snook sight fishing in Marco Island is one of my favorite ways to target these fish because you can often see them cruising the shallow water before making a presentation.

Naples inshore fishing in August is as interesting as it is hot! The hot summer spawning activity of the snook is slowing down, but there are plenty of big ones still around, as they spread out from the passes into their usual haunts. What gets interesting, is the big redfish start to show up with more predictability as they begin to gather up for their on spawning fun in the fall. In addition to the gamefish, the are lots and lots of mangrove snapper at just about every spot we fish, that can quickly load up the cooler and cleaning...
Naples inshore fishing for big snook in August, means fishing with big chunk of freshly cut threadfin herring, ladyfish, or mullet, under the mangroves, and patience. These fish will often stare at a piece of bait for a while, before finally decide to slurp it up. They are lazy, and want it fresh. if the angler is impatient, and keeps tugging and making the bait move, they will not eat it. Big fish know chunks of cut bait aren’t supposed to move! There are also plenty of snook in the passes, and under docks and other deep cutes, These fish want a nice medium sized pilchard or pinfish fed into their ambush point. There is nothing like that distinct thump when a snook hits that live bait!
The redfish are in the back country, but are starting to gather up towards the outside points, passes, cuts and docks, a

As we head into July and the full heat of summertime, the water is hot, and the fishing is responding accordingly.
The bait is still small, but the mangrove snapper love it, and you never know what else is gonna eat it in the mangroves. We have chances at funsized tarpon, snook, redfish, jacks, ladyfish and the list goes on.
When we focus on big fish, we use big bait, and in the warm water, freshly cut chunks of big bait will out fish the live ones. Big snook and redfish are lazy this time of the year, and prefer...

When we focus on big fish, we use big bait, and in the warm water, freshly cut chunks of big bait will out fish the live ones. Big snook and redfish are lazy this time of the year, and prefer to sit back in their shady mangrove lined hiding places and slurp it up!
Big sharks are all over the back country. A freshly cut bloody bait usually won't last very long in the warm waters. Toss one out, and an outrageous drag ripping battle is sure to follow suit.
Whether you want to eat fresh snapper, battle snook, reds, tarpon, or get in the ring with a big bull or lemon shark, July is ready to provide the challenge.

Naples Inshore Report for the first 2 weeks of June has been a been a mixture of great fishing, great eating, and refreshing rains! For anyone wanting to get a mess of fish for the table, we have been skipping shrimp and small pilchards in the mangroves for mangrove snapper. It hasn't been uncommon to get 30 fish in a trip that we could sort through for 10-15 to bring home. Redfish, snook, trout and jack crevalle are mixed in these catches.

For those fishermen into catching bigger spirtier fish, the big snook and big redfish are eating the bigger baits, and cut baits in the mangroves, and around all the passes. There are some true trophy fish to be caught, but remember, snook are out of season, and any redfish must be under 27 inches to be a keeper.
For the pure sportsman, tarpon and sharks you d out, perhaps, the best month of the year to catch the trophy of a lifetime.
So if you wanna eaten, or just catch em, set up a trip and let's go get em!
