The redfish and snook bite is going strong right now on the mangrove islands. We are fishing the points with moving water using artificial lures and live bait. When we are using live bait it has been mud minnows and pinfish and the artificial lures has been z-Man prawn stars that is a shrimp style bait it has been working the best this time of the year.

Trout has been in the shallow flats with the mullet schools and on the hard bottom in under 2ft of water we have been using all artificial lures from top water plug to Z-man plastic jerk shadz in all colors rig on weedless hooks.
Hogfish bite remains great offshore, along with mangrove snapper and occasional gag grouper (still fun to catch although they're out of season.)
redfish are piling up on inshore islands, mangroves and oyster beds. Some trout around as well, and any day the mackerel and kingfish will be showing up in numbers off the beach. Best time of the year is right now!

We had such a great experience with Captain Jacob! He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole trip fun for everyone. What a great time with Capt. Gavin and Liz. They got us on the scallops right away and we made a day of it. From the moment we walked in he made us feel at ease. Funny knowledgeable and patient. This is a must do next season.

Had a great afternoon with Justin. Thrifty minutes in we ran into bad weather with wind, lightning and rain. He drove out of it looking for other options and we came back to original area and had a great last 1.5 hours of scalloping with success. We did not limit out, but that was due to weather. Really fun time with first time scallopers.
