Fall fishing is in full swing here in islamorada. Offshore fishing has been great on the calmer days with plenty of mahi and some great tuna fishing as well . Not to mention a great bottom bite for vermillion snappers and more .
The reefs have been producing some good snapper bites and startling to see some mackerel showing up in good numbers to .
We have also had some great lobster days. The water is still warm and clear making it a blast to get out and stack some bugs before the cold fronts start .

Fishings been good when the weather is not in the way with all the rain we've had. But been in the backcountry the last few weeks lots of red fish Snook tarpon have been around. On the offshore side the blackfin tunas have been biting really well and there's still some mahi around.

One of the best things about living in the Florida Keys is that the fishing never really turns off—it just transitions. As we head toward the change of seasons, the fishing around Big Pine Key, the Lower Keys, and Marathon is still producing some great action.
We’ve been seeing a fair amount of yellowtail snapper on the reef, with some mackerel mixed in. If you’re targeting these toothy fish, make sure you have some wire ready to go. You don’t want to be caught without it when a mackerel shows up!

Fishing was pretty rough. Caught two bait fish and a few yellow tails under 12" long. We understood the fishing may be a little tough with the windy weather but seemed like we were just wasting time. New first mate. We hoped to catch a few fish to eat but spent more time trying to anchor (three times) with no luck. Im not an ocean fishing guide but have spent a few hours on my own boat and when its too windy and too much current to anchor I will usually head to a new area. Wish we would have tried a new spot or two and possibly a new tactic. We could have went to a bridge pillar and caught a few fish to eat. Would not recommend if the fishing may be tough.
