August is definitely living up to its potential, scorching heat and plenty of rod bending action for anglers. Winds continued to stay mild allowing for beach fishing as well as inshore fishing.
Snook always angler favorite, provided great action along beaches, inlets and inside the ICW along docks and seawalls.
Live baits and DOA 3” shad tail in Mole’ color, choice baits this past week. Snook ranged in size from 2 to 20 pounds.
Mild winds and seas allowed for tarpon “fun in the sun” along the beaches. Live baits presented to the silver king produced acrobatic jumps and drag screaming runs for anglers. Those that prefer targeting inshore waters, plenty of juvenile tarpon to target using fly, live baits, or artificial lures. Outgoing tide produced the best bite this week do to the stronger tides.
Looking to wrack up a plethora of species to your resume. No problem the jacks, snapper, bluefish, mackerel, sharks and many other species are abundant near structures and channels. Bent rods always a plus and kids sure love seeing all the different sea creatures.
Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

Finally the wind machine stopped for the Palm Beaches. Calm seas, light variable winds made for epic fishing. The sea weed along the beaches was still present, but the calm waters allowed for the sea weed to settle and anglers to sight fish crystal clear waters.
Beach fishing was fantastic
the past week, calm waters allowed for bait schools to school in troughs along the beach. Plenty of bait signals predator species like snook, tarpon, jacks and sharks to feed on these bait schools. Snook could be seen cruising the shorelines in search of there next meal. Not far behind the snook, tarpon allowed anglers to sight fish and present live baits and DOA Terror Eyz in there path creating drag screaming action.
Inlet action for snook stayed consistent, DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail in Mole’ rigged with a 3/8oz jig, excellent bait of choice as well as live baits. Tarpon, jacks, sharks and snapper all species that offered steady action . Snapper fishing provided plenty of action for anglers along rock jetties and drop offs.
Inshore fishing anglers had a blast targeting big jacks on top water Rapala skitter walks, also catching bluefish and mackerel. Docks, sea walls and drops offs all great areas to target a plethora of species. Snook, tarpon, jacks always main target, but sometimes we are surprised with species we don’t see often in the ICW. This weeks surprise catch was an African pompano, caught by a JR angler.
Well that is the fishing reply for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines

August has arrived signifying the heat is still on and this tends to be the hottest month for South Florida. If you can’t beat the heat, at least beat the fish in a tug of war match.
Windy conditions for the local palm beaches continued until the end of this
past weekend, finally giving anglers a reprieve from turbulent conditions.
Snook fishing has been excellent along channel edges, docks, and sea walls. Moving water equals hungry fish. Live baits and DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail have been the baits of choice. Snook are ranging in size from 2 to 25 pounds.
Tarpon fishing has been hit and miss past week. I believe slower bite contributed to south wind and dirty water. Incoming tide cleaner water fish seemed to be happier taking live baits and DOA Terror Eyz worked along the bottom.
Deep holes and channel edges still offering jacks, bluefish, mackerel, snapper, sharks and many other species. Live baits great way to get fish fired up, but top water Rapala skitter walks and DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail also trigger strikes.

by Kris green these custom fishing can be purchased at ST. Pete Fishing Outfitters. I prefer a 10-15lb rod rating, but you can go with what you will have the most confidence in. As usual, the line of choice 15lb Braid attached to a 20lb fluorocarbon leader. What I feel is the most critical component of my setup is the use a 1/4oz Mission Fishin jig-head. Now that we talked about the setup, let’s get to how to find them. I’m going to suggest you search around ledges- there’s no need to look for the wrecks. When fishing these areas and using this type of rig, you will also hook up with a fair amount of Mangrove Snapper and Key West Grunts. The water depth I am looking to fish in is 25-60ft. Save yourself some of your hard earned money. There is no need to buy the biggest shrimp at the bait shop to catch these guys. Regular or Hand Picked shrimp work just fine for this application, but make sure you bring plenty of them. As a rule of thumb, I typically make sure to bring 15 dozen shrimp for my clients when I’m running a 4 hour charter. 4thST bait and tackle and Mitch’s bait and tackle always has great looking shrimp! So when you’re out there hoggin’ try to bring a 4/0 reel lined with 80lb matched with a stout rod. You’re going to want to drop a 3-5oz sinker to bottom (depending on current) with a dead bait to the bottom. My personal favorite here is to have a butterflied Key West grunt attached to the business end. Make sure you lock the drag down and then simply set it in a rod holder. You just may happen to pull up a nice Gag Grouper ( If you put these tips to use and you’ll set yourself up for some great cold weather fishing & some of the best tasting fish you can get!! We have chartered a lot of boats in the past, but this was by far the best! And seriously… our last was 3 1/2 weeks ago and they remembered us from our catch on another boat! If you’re looking for an unforgettable day on the water, Papa Bear Too Charters is absolutely the way to go! From start to finish, the experience was incredible. The captain was knowledgeable, professional, fun, and made everyone feel comfortable the entire trip.My SIL gets seasick and somehow didn’t. Ha! You can tell they truly care about giving their guests an amazing experience — not just another charter trip. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the attention to detail was top-notch. Phone communication before the charter helped us all figure out the best way to spend the day catching fish both trolling and stationary. Everything was provided as well as ice cold drinks, etc! Whether you’re experienced or brand new, they make the trip enjoyable for everyone. The scenery, the atmosphere, and the memories we made were priceless. What really stood out was how personable and genuine the crew was. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible, and it honestly felt like spending the day with friends who know exactly how to create a perfect adventure. Highly recommend Papa Bear Too Charters to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be booking again! Wanted to quickly post a review because we are so grateful, but we’re busy cooking up WAY more fish than we could capture in just a couple pictures! :
