Dust off your 10wt - the big girls are in the marsh, the water has dropped out, and the forage is plentiful. Shots on big fish with explosive shallow water eats are a daily occurrence this time of year. The schools of bull reds have broken up and they’ve become more solitary as they prowl the shallow interior marshes hoovering up shrimp, crabs, and every living creature unfortunate enough to cross their path. The water has dropped out for winter, concentrating the fish and making them easy to spot. The wind can be a little unpredictable, but in between fronts, the fishing doesn’t get any better than this.

When I tell you a time was had!!! We had a group of 6 so we teamed up with Capt Shawn and Capt. Chad. The laughs started within 10 minutes of arriving to the dock! Both captains were very experienced, knowledgeable, hospitable and definitely made sure they put us in the best spots to catch fish!! I recently went duck hunting with Captain Jacob and had an excellent experience. He was professional, courteous, and easy to work with. When the weather forced us to reschedule at the last minute, he handled it without any issues, which made the whole process stress-free. The duck blind was clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of ducks flying overhead throughout the hunt. At the end of the day, Captain Jacob even cleaned and butchered the birds for us, which was a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a well-run guided hunt. I’m already planning to book with him again.
