Our fall weather right now feels more like summer. We haven’t had rain in weeks and fish feel more vulnerable in low water and sluggish. We’ve been working hard every day to figure out what is getting them to chase and bite!
Salmon fishing on the Muskgon River is still going strong. The trout and steelhead bite behind the Kings is starting to pick up, and that’s exciting! I enjoy swinging large flashy spinners and floating beats through runs for fall CHROME. We've also been finding some big smallies and Pike hanging around!

Salmon fishing on the Muskgon River is still going strong. The trout and steelhead bite behind the Kings is starting to pick up, and that’s exciting! I enjoy swinging large flashy spinners and floating beats through runs for fall CHROME. We've also been finding some big smallies and Pike hanging around!
On the Pine, the smallies have been tough, but we’ve been getting good sized smallies when we find them. The pike have been hitting top water early and hanging tight to wood as the sun comes up. Working log jams in tight areas is exciting and can be very rewarding.
I’m really hoping for some rain soon to perk all the fish up and more cool days. November fishing is the best IMO. Great cool weather; fish are active before winter, and fewer people are out on the water.

This Morning Trip fishing has been good 50 to 70 foot of water. We have some cold water with spoons be in our primary bait. There's been a few fish caught on meat rigs but a good variety of fish, steelhead coho and Kings.

Couple of pictures from last Friday evening's trip in early with a four man limit. There was a couple of people on board that have never caught a salmon before, so we really enjoyed showing them a great fishing experience.

Fished with Captain Justin on Muskegon Lake for walleyes on Sunday, September 14 from 4-8 pm. We fished 6 lines with planer boards and did not have a strike. Sometimes that is fishing. I still plan to book another trip next year.
