Fishing reports straight from our guides in Harkers Island
Fall fishing is underway. The Spanish mackerel are right on the beach and in the inlets tearing up bait. False albacore are just off the beach a few miles in big numbers. We picked up a skipjack tuna mixed in with the albies the other day which was a nice surprise. Inside the redfish and flounder bite is going strong and up the Neuse the old drum are doing their thing.

Blue and Spanish have been off the charts! All sizes, a lot of fun, Spanish will be on the way out as it cools down. Flounder season is over Sunday and it was good like usual.

The redfish bite has been great the last few weeks and for the people wanting some variety we are seeing some really nice black drum. Spanish mackerel and bluefish are also an option if catching a bunch of fish is all you care about.

Heat of the summer fishing, redfish in the back waters, ocean has good bottom fishing black bass, triggers, grouper and amberjack with an occasional Cobia in the mix

Bluefish on Topwater have been a constant, Spanish Mack's have been pretty steady and a grind for drum but been getting some to play

Between the almost endless winds we've have very steady action bottom fishing for groupers, snappers, triggers etc. A few king mackerel nearshore, with good casting action for spanish mackerel, bluefish and bait fishing for sharks. Inshore has been tough overall but, there's are a few redfish, speckled trout, black drum and sheepshead in the mix.

The dog days of summer are upon us, and when the weather cooperates the Spanish and Bluefish blitz is as good as it gets! Drum inside have been tough but we're finding them, so if you want action, it's Spanish and blues, but if you want the hunt and thrill of payoff, it's reds!

The redfish bite has been great over the last week. Mostly slot fish but the over slots have made an appearance the last two trips.

Ocean fishing has been good nearshore and offshore.... lots of casting opportunities nearshore for bluefish and Spanish mackerel on light spinning gear as well as a splash of king mackerel and amberjack on live bait nearshore. If you find a happy pack of amberjacks you can get them to take topwater plugs and even fly tackle. Not to mention the sharks, plenty of action to those wanting to target sharks and many times even those anglers that don't want sharks. On the days the weather allows offshore bottom fishing has been good, we're still catching good numbers of gag groupers,...
