Both artificial lures and live baits have been effective, giving fishermen plenty of opportunities throughout the day. On the reef, the snapper bite has really started to heat up. Yellowtail snapper have been the primary target, with solid catches of mangrove snapper and mutton snapper as well. We’re also still picking away at some quality red and black grouper here and there. If you’re looking for consistent action and a variety of species, this is one of the best times of the year to get out on the water. The reef is alive with activity, and the offshore mahi bite continues to provide exciting opportunities for anglers of all experience levels.
The bottom bite has been on fire with mutton snapper black grouper and some nice gags. We also caught lots of Blacfin tuna limiting out a couple days with some fish in the 20 pound range and one over 30 pounds. The sailfish showed up today.

May was an incredible month aboard the Hooked Up Sport Fishing off the coast of South Florida! Charter fishing has been outstanding, with an abundance of blackfin tuna, sailfish, and a great start to the grouper season. While we didn't snap too many grouper photos, we did land a gorgeous yellow edge grouper! Charter fishing has been outstanding, with an abundance of blackfin tuna, sailfish, and a great start to the grouper season. While we didn't snap too many grouper photos, we did land a gorgeous yellow edge grouper!
