We are still in a bit of a transition. As the water temperature begins to drop. Soon the migration will be in full force into the back bays and estuaries and Caloosahatchee river. The trout bite has been hot with a few being caught over 20 inches. Lots of juvenile redfish around as they begin to move in from the Gulf. I also have been seeing a few permit on the Inshore grass flats. They are a lot of fun to catch as they pullback pretty hard!

The weather is cooling down but the fishing is heating up, and it’s getting to be some of the finest fishing of the year. We are finding large schools of redfish, big hungry snook, larger slot sized trout and to top it off the sheepshead are moving inshore for the winter months. We are starting to transition over to fishing shrimp but still catching nice white bait for the big predators to eat. It’s a great time to get out and fight some fish, the winds have held us up from going offshore much but the inshore bite is just...

The holiday season is upon us in Sarasota, Florida and the fish seem to know it. Our fishing charter customers had success targeting Snook, Redfish, Trout and Jacks in the shallow flats of Sarasota bay. As water temperatures dropped we found fish congregated on low tides in deeper mud holes in the buttonwood bay area on the back side of Longboat Key. On higher tides we found fish on top of shallow oyster bars around the bully creek area near the Sarasota airport. The nearshore fishing in Sarasota was also hot on the public reefs in front of Siesta, Lido...

The fishing is about as good as it gets right now! The shallow water bite for redfish has been WOW! Shrimp under popping corks is the ticket fished along the mangrove islands on higher water. October did not disappoint and the bite should only continue with the cooler temps coming!

The shallow water backbay fishing has been crazy good past week. The cooler air temps have really turned on the redfish bite! Shrimp under popping corks has been the go-to set-up and producing good numbers and slot size fish! Trout on the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water have been chewing shrimp topped jig heads under popping corks. There have been a few slot sized fish mixed in but most have been right under slot at 14 inches. There has also been some quality bait schools along the beaches which have led to some good snook fishing as well....

Come and get you some and let's bend some rods!
It's finally Fall in Sarasota and the water temperatures are slowly dropping. Sarasota Bay has been full of action the past few weeks with water temperatures in the mid to low 80 degrees.
Customers have been enjoying quick action catching Trout, Jacks and Mackeral along the deeper grass flats. We have also been having great luck targeting Snook and Redfish along the mangrove islands near major creek systems. They key has been fishing the small fry bait being pushing to the surface.

James was very knowledgeable about the fish we were trying to catch! Really had a great time caught many fish right off the bat. He also cleaned them all so we could est them. Thank you keep up the good work!
Captain Adam was fantastic. We had a group of 6 - all first time iguana hunters! We had to wait out a some unpredictable weather before starting, and Adam was extremely accommodating. A wonderful unique experience and would absolutely book again! Highly recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re thinking about booking a fishing charter, stop thinking and book with Captain James!
Three of us hit the water expecting a good day—but we got an unforgettable one. We reeled in mangrove snapper, battled sharks, and hooked into tarpon! The rods stayed bent, the laughs never stopped, and Captain James knew exactly where to put us on the fish.
Professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure everyone has an amazing time. Whether you’re chasing a trophy catch or just making memories with friends and family, Captain James is the one to call.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
This was a bucket list trip for me and Captain Phil didn’t disappoint! We landed 3 out of the 4 fish we hooked with the biggest weighing roughly 180 lbs. I can’t thank Phil enough for making this a trip of a lifetime!
We met James at the dock and he was all ready to go. We hooked up on some nice snook within minutes of leaving the dock. It was a great day. He is very professional, knowledgeable and did everything he could to make our trip enjoyable. We highly recommend him and look forward to another visit!
Leighton was an absolutely fantastic guide, and great person. He was super knowledgeable, resourceful, and patient on our trip. He helped us get on some of our first saltwater fish on the fly, and made it an enjoyable time while doing so! I would 100% book another trip with Leighton.
