Great week. September fishing is notorious for being challenging. During the peak of summer the water temperature is at its hottest, lately I have been seeing water temps around 84. Boat traffic is at an all time high, especially on weekends which can also be detrimental to the bite. Hot water & boat traffic are not appealing to trout, they would prefer cooler temps. Due to this then move out deep seeking cooler water. While this may all sound like doom and gloom, fear not!
Redfish, Black Drum, Sheephead, Flounder, & Catfish...
They still have to eat!

Catching continues to be good on West Galveston Bay. Have seen several trout up to 6 lbs. Redfish have been dominating our box. Live shrimp seems to be producing better than croaker as of late. Milder temps have set in, making for a more enjoyable trip. Light winds have brought clear water to the surf.

Fishing in Galveston bay has been good. Lots of trout being caught in the deeper water over shell and near the many gas wells. Best bite is on live shrimp. Fish are also on shallow reefs in Trinity bay. A mix of black drum, speckled trout and the occasional slot redfish. Bull reds are beginning to school in the open water. Water clarity is good.

Wading and fishing out of the boat have both been good in east matagorda bay, the flats, back lakes, and reefs are covered in redfish and flounder. Been using mostly lure such as topwater, downsouths, and gulp. Live shrimp and cut bait have been productive as well.

Jordan was great, very courteous or is on fish right away. We had some weather come in early. We regrouped he stayed positive and we went back out and continued to catch fish. He was great to fish with!!!! Definitely recommend Jordan.
Great experience from start to finish! He was fantastic to work with and helped us tremendously. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip enjoyable. Already booked my second trip with him.
Captain Jay is absolutely amazing! My husband and I just got home from our 5hr trip and we couldn’t be more pleased. Jay is informative, funny, and makes you feel incredibly comfortable on the water. His vast knowledge of fishing left us with new techniques that we’ll be able to use from here on out. If you’re looking for a stellar guide for you or your family/friends, don’t look any further. Jay is definitely your guy. We will absolutely book with him again!

We had a late cancellation from another captain and were excited that Jordan could fit us in on short notice. Great day out and came home with fish…good times!
Amazing experience! Captain Chad drove 50 miles to the next city just so we’d have good live bait for our trip. With that being said we caught 40 fish and 20 keepers. Even managed to get on some Reds in late January weather. We will definitely be booking another trip with Captain “Chappy”. If you’re looking to catch fish in a relaxed setting with someone who knows there stuff, look No Further.
