The fishing has been great with the redfish run catching tons of over sized reds over 28in long and lots of good slot fish aswell
The black drum have also started to make an appearance and they are a blast as well!

Red October has been good. The back bays and jetties have been producing big boxes of fish. Big schools of slot reds are ganging up at the jetties making for some crazy mornings. On the other hand, Flounder gigging has been challenging. Water conditions have been tough, with low tide and crazy high tides and cloudy water, but we are still producing good numbers of fish. No two nights are the same!

Redfish still have been taking the spotlight.
Sand, grass, mud or shell it doesn't matter. Water temps are dropping at night and these fish are eating like crazy.

Summer has officially started in Port O’ Connor. There are 3 major bay systems in Port O’Connor, west matagorda bay, Espiritu Bay, and San Antonio Bay. Each one has its own characteristics and each present a challenge on finding good fish. Espiritu Bay has been producing solid trout on top water baits in the early morning and plastics such as down south lures. Espiritu Bay has been producing solid trout on top water baits in the early morning and plastics such as down south lures. The trout have moved from the mud from the back lakes and sloughs to the sand of the south shore lines and sand bars, as the day gets warmer they move from the flats to the deeper guts and then back to the flats as the evening arrives and the bait moves back onto the flats. The redfish have also been producing very well this summer and can be caught on top water and plastics as well.
West matagorda bay has been on fire as of late and the trout have been in an abundance on the sandbars and flats. The bull reds have been epic this year in deeper waters from bird island all the way into the jetties early in the morning and have been caught on jigs.
San Antonio Bay has been a little slower on producing fish but they are starting to turn on too. Each bay has oyster reefs, sand, and grass pockets which all present a different challenge on how to fish and be successful on getting a limit of trout and reds.
As the we get into July and august the fish are going to move into deeper water to stay cool so we always have to be aware of water temperature and tidal movement. Also the months of July and august are great for going to the surf because we hardly get any wind in those months which keeps the surf calm and there are some big trout and reds that hang out on the gulf side of the barrier islands.
Rockport has been steady with good trout holding in the deeper water in late morning. Red fish are still hit or miss. Still having best results on wade trips.
Lower Laguana: nice trout being caught on croaker and artificial up and down the king ranch shore line. Best bite is early morning. Once the winds pick up, bite is dying off quickly.

Great morning with Travis. Got us onto fish straight away and our two boys loved it. A 30” redfish started things off and we finished with a 5-6ft alligator gar, with plenty of others between them. Highly recommend a trip out with Travis!
Had a great time. Slow start but s great finish. Probably the weather. But was the most fish we have caught in a long time. Hit the grand slam. We really enjoyed the trip Travis. Thank you so much. We will be back!!! And don't forget, if you find that cork let me know what it was and how big.
Trey, thanks for your help in getting everything worked out on the booking. You got us a great guide. 👍👍👍
Travis was very good!! He was timely, polite, and put us on nice fish!!! While we did not limit our, we had a blast and caught very nice slot redfish!! Great trip!!
