Another good outing on Lake Conroe yesterday (6/19/2026). My half-day trip was with two customers from Louisiana who wanted to catch crappie, or as they call them back home, sac-a-lait.
We had a great day on the water, and the crappie were cooperating. My customers came close to a one-man limit, but with the weather moving in, we decided to head back a little earlier than planned. Better safe than sorry. We found fish in 15 to 25 feet of water, with water temperatures holding in the mid-80s. Minnows were the bait of choice. They had the Crappie Rods working!

Had a great time today with some old friends! We couldn’t pin down the exact year, but it’s been at least 25 years since the three of us were together at the same time. We shared a lot of laughs reminiscing about old memories and stories from years ago. Met Dean and Clay at 6 a.m. and headed out into the bay. Lots of storms and wind bouncing around today. First 2 stops didnt produce anything. 3rd spot, pulled 1 16” trout off of it. Wasn’t long til we moved again. After a long ride we landed on a spot and caught our trout, a 19” redfish and a couple of puppy drum. It wasn't too bad of a day considering tough conditions.

Fishing has been good to grade on the days we can get out with a limit of trout and redfish. The weather is the only thing holding us back.
