Been catching snapper and Key west grunts and taking the smaller ones and going out to the reef and as of late. We’ve been catching monsters snook out on the Reef! All my clients think they need to book a full day trip but we can usually get all the fishing you’d like done in 4 hours with how hot it’s been!

Inshore fishing in sarasota continues to remain very good. We are bringing home limits of mangrove snapper that are finishing out their spawn, the snapper will continue to bite for the next few weeks as we transition into our fall pattern. Snook are starting to make their way back into the bay and are transitioning getting ready to head back into the creeks and rivers. We are catching decent size snook at the higher stages of the tide around mangroves. Shots at juvenile Tarpon are being had early in the morning as they roll on the surface. Spotted sea trout...

We are catching decent size snook at the higher stages of the tide around mangroves. Shots at juvenile Tarpon are being had early in the morning as they roll on the surface. Spotted sea trout are starting to make good showings on the edges of deeper grass flats, some smaller schools of Spanish mackerel and bluefish are also around the deeper grass flats. We are catching plenty of live white bait in the morning and that has proven to be key for a successful trip.

Fishing is starting to fire back off with fall very near. Redfish are starting to chew a lot better and within the next few weeks the bite will be hot. Water temps are starting to drop helping out the bite tremendously. Cooler water and lower tides these big reds start getting caught up in big potholes on the flats . Majority is caught on big ole cut baits

In the bay we’re catching mangrove snapper and grouper. We’ve been using a #2 circle hook with 14 pound leader for the snapper and 30 pound leader for the grouper. Cut bait on the hook and free line back with the chum. On the flats, we’re using live and dead thread ins and greenbacks to catch bull redfish and snook. Mostly smaller snook in the flats. Dead Bait is working just as good as live bait. Bite has been good on the snook as well.

Hey David,
We are deep into summer here and the water is hot. Our customers have been enjoying catching Snook, Mangrove Snapper and Jacks in our passes and along our beaches. We have also been getting lucky with the Trout in the bay along our grass flats. The key has been finding the cooler water and schools of bait fish.

Fishing has been a little tough due to high water temps but still able to catch quality fish off the beaches in high current situations. Most the big snook and reds have been schooled up off the beaches chasing schools of whitebait and mullet. Havnt been catching high quantities of fish but definitely quality if you're willing to put the time in and grind it out. The high water temps make the fish lethargic, and they aren't willing to exert a lot of energy to chase a bait down, practically have to hit them in the head with it and...

My guys had a great time on their fishing trip with Captain Nick! The trip was booked per my 10 year old son’s request, and he was accompanied by his step dad and grandpas. Nick was very pleasant and friendly, experienced, and treated my boy as one of his own. They all had a really great time and learned a lot during their trip. Thanks Captain Nick!

What an unforgettable experience!! We had so much fun and caught so many fish with Captain George- I’m also pretty sure he might actually be a fish whisperer! He was so personable and accommodating. We have fallen in love with this area and can’t wait to come back next year- and you can bet that we will definitely be booking another fishing trip! Thanks for the memories, Captain George!!

Captain Brian and Captain Gerry were great! Great conversation and knows their stuff. We booked a 4 hour trip. Safety is priority and a storm was rolling in, so we had to head back after 2 hours. However, it passed after 30-45 minutes and we went back out. They took us to 4-5 different spots and we caught over 10 species of fish! Flounder, grouper, spades, sheeps head, lady fish, trout, silvers, mackerel, jack, pin, mangrove snapper, puffer. Many we had to release because they weren’t in season or were juveniles. However, the ones we did keep, the captains cleaned up for us. Overall, had a wonderful time. 10/10
