Bay boat and Airboat fishing has been amazing with the low tides. Bait of choice has been shrimp.
Species:
redfish- excellent
Black drum -excellent
Trout- very good just have to weed through the smaller ones to get to the good ones.

Wade fishing with artificial (Corky's) has been excellent. The bigger trout have been solid on artificial.

Trout- excellent.
Redfish- excellent

Spring fishing has turned on. High tides, high rewards. Redfish are consistent in mud and grass. Trout are extremely consistent on shell still.

A lot of bigger trout wading have been showing up in East Bay. Along with some bigger schools of reds out on the flats making for easy sight casting. Spring fish is right around the corner and by the looks of it it's going to be a great season.

Inconsistent weather has us chasing down redfish and the results are good Slower bites then normal in the cold but the fish are just as hungry.

The water conditions could not have been worse but Captain Pat worked extremely hard poling through the very shallow flats and mud to put us on the fish. I would strongly recommend Capt. Pat for a flounder gigging trip.

Conditions weren't great so he offered to extend our trip until my boys limited out on trout. We will be returning to Matagorda this winter due to hospitality, great customer service and overall experience we had with Captain Fern!

Captain Benny was absolutely a pleasure to fish with. He immediately felt like a long time friend when setting up plans and even made rescheduling due to storm weather super easy. When we were out on the boat, he was instructive and safe. Our teenage boys enjoyed the time so much they are begging to go back out with Benny. We will definitely book with him again and recommend going out with him to anyone who wants a knowledgeable guide.

Captain Terry is a very good Boat captain. He kept all of our bait on our hooks. He took care of all of the fish. It was just a great experience. We probably caught 150 fish in six hours and by the end of the tour, I thought my arms were gonna fall off. We will definitely use him again in the future.

We had an absolutely outstanding trip this past Saturday fishing in Matagorda. I took my four sons, and our captain could not have done a better job. From start to finish, he was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure the boys had a great experience. He knew where to go, worked hard to put us on fish, and made the whole day easy and enjoyable. What stood out most to me was how well he treated my sons. He was patient with them, coached them, encouraged them, and made sure each of them felt included. That means a lot to a dad. The boat was clean, the gear was ready, and everything was handled with confidence and care. It was clear we were with someone who knows Matagorda waters and takes pride in giving people a great day on the water. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you are looking for a great captain, especially for a family trip, this is the guy. We made some great memories, and my boys are still talking about it. We will definitely be back.
