Fishing has started to heat up with warmer temps. Live shrimp and popping corks doing most of the damage right now.

The last week was challenging yet rewarding. While there were not any “gimmie” days with a lot of effort and some brain power we ended up putting some nice boxes of fish together with a pile of trophy black drum up to 50 pounds. Even saw our first kingfish and Mahi of the year. I expect summer fishing to come early after next weeks blow. Meaning kings, cobia and plenty of other tasty critters. While inshore has been booking hot, day by day I can feel it getting less quality bites and more “junk fish” while great to bend a rod I don’t expect to see full fish boxes of great eating. Spanish mackerel should be showing any day providing great action for kids and family trips. But also a great fall back if the sheepshead trout or redfish are uncooperative. Skiff trips have been heating up as well focused around the low tide as usual. Redfish bite was very very slow a week or so ago but is recovering nicely.

Fishing has been hit and miss with all the different wind directions, super high then super low tides and the swing in temps and cold fronts that seem to be hanging around. Once we have normal temps, wind directions and keep normal tides the fishing should really turn on here in Port o Connor. Thanks Capt Pappie

Well this weather has been crazy but can still put my clients on fish. Between high winds and super low tides we have found success.

Fishing has been great on the bite during mid and ending of tides. Keepers other than black drum have been a hit or miss. The schooling size reds are plentiful. Small trout running the shallows, larger trout are staying deep still along the channel. Fish have been hitting live and dead shrimp and mid water plastics

February-March Biloxi Mississippi Fishing Report - Fishing into March changes up a bit, but it's still a good bite!!! As the water temp has reached the 70 degree mark, that triggers change. As the moon starts to pull in the warmer water, the sheepshead move offshore, trout start to move out of the rivers and marshes, and the ground mullet and white trout move in on the nearshore oyster reefs along w/ WORLD record black drum on fly!! Live shrimps are hard to come by, but fresh dead will catch!!! We even made a trip out to offshore and played tug-of-war with some monster red fish and red snapper. As always we find a way to get’er done!!! Well almost!!!

Fishing report from Todd V. in New Smyrna Beach, Florida Book a trip with Captain Todd here.

Mosquito Lagoon has continued to produce good quantities of slot reds along with an occasional Bull. But these recent fu moon phases have been key in bringing the gator Trout up on the flats to spawn. Two days ago we had 8 trout between 20 and 25". Largest for the year so far has been 29". This will continue through June. In the Ponce Inlet area still seeing good quantities of sheepshead and flounder with regular hookups of bull reds and black drum. In the next couple weeks we will be starting the evening trips fishing the causeways in New Smyrna Beach for Snook and Tarpon.
