The Tuna Fishing was slow the past two weeks... However the fishing for Mahi- Mahi more than made up for it... On our last trip we boated 18 Mahi's releasing several small rats. The Tuna fishing should pick up after these Hurricanes pass us buy. These storms churn up the ocean, and the Tuna go off their normal feeding cycle. Once everything settles down the Tuna will go back on the Feed !

The past month has been absolutely on fire. Finding live bait such as cigar minnows and scaled sardines, along with squirrel fish have been the keys to getting limits. Dropping a Carolina rig with 30-50 lbs leader and 3-6 oz weights depending on the current has been the key to success. Can't find the live bait schools, no worries chum up the water real good and drop frozen cigar minnows and you should still pick up a few. If snapper is not in play, no need to worry, schools of Mahi have been swarming the deeper wrecks and you always have a chance to pull in a nice king Mackeral or some skip jacks on the troll. Amberjack season is opening up August 1st so get those poppers and plugs ready and hold on when those big AJ's start busting them.
