Summer is slowly coming to an end here in Sarasota, Florida and we are excited to be seeing signs of Fall. Our Trout Fishing has been fantastic in Sarasota Bay along our deeper grass flats with tons of action from other by catch, Jacks, Lady Fish, Mangrove Snapper and Triple Tail. We have also started to find schools of Redfish along our shallower grass flats and mangrove islands. The Snook fishing in Sarasota seems to always be good as our customers have enjoyed catching Snook in both our passes ( New Pass, Big Pass) and along our mangrove islands and oysters bars on the higher tides.

Redfish are starting to show up in the area. As long as the weather stays warm, the Spanish mackerel with be abundant. Mangrove snapper have been plentiful and have been very hungry. Fishing is good in Orange Beach right now.

Fishing report from Daniel G. in Beaufort, North Carolina

Fishing has been on fire as the weather gets cooler and lighter winds come around. The shrimp are thick inshore, allowing drum and trout easy meals. Nearshore, there are acres of Spanish Mackerel, albacore, and bluefish are busting glass minnows. Dropping on deep water ledges has been providing nice flounder bites as well

The nearshore bite has been on fire and it's only going to get better. It's not as hot as summertime, and the seas are calm. Nearshore the spanish mackerel, king mackerels, big Reds, are in full swing. Offshore the Famous Red Snapper on Friday through Mondays have been awesome. With cooler temps and calm seas we have been bringing in some big ones. Inshore the redfish, and speckled trouts are biting pretty good. So now is the time to book your trip, cooler temps, calm seas, big fish and no crouds.

Fishing has been really good here lately with the calmer winds and cleaner water. Nearshore casting at Spanish Mackerel has been steady with a mix of albacore for a fun fighting surprise. Inshore with the right tides, you can find scattered speckled trout and solid redfish, and starting Sept 1 we can finally keep the elusive flounder. Shrimp are all over the backwaters, cast netting enough for dinner to add to the plate!

Fishing in hot summer waters can sometimes be tough, but with the right tides, depths and bait, some fish are still biting! Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel and the Sharks are on fire right now. Fish are going in the cooler and clients are leaving the docks with bags of meat. With cooler waters just around the corner Redfish will start biting hard in Tampa Bay.

Fishing report from Craig K. in Palm Beach, Florida

Finally the wind machine stopped for the Palm Beaches. Calm seas, light variable winds made for epic fishing. The sea weed along the beaches was still present, but the calm waters allowed for the sea weed to settle and anglers to sight fish crystal clear waters. Beach fishing was fantastic the past week, calm waters allowed for bait schools to school in troughs along the beach. Plenty of bait signals predator species like snook, tarpon, jacks and sharks to feed on these bait schools. Snook could be seen cruising the shorelines in search of there next meal. Not far behind the snook, tarpon allowed anglers to sight fish and present live baits and DOA Terror Eyz in there path creating drag screaming action. Inlet action for snook stayed consistent, DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail in Mole’ rigged with a 3/8oz jig, excellent bait of choice as well as live baits. Tarpon, jacks, sharks and snapper all species that offered steady action . Snapper fishing provided plenty of action for anglers along rock jetties and drop offs. Inshore fishing anglers had a blast targeting big jacks on top water Rapala skitter walks, also catching bluefish and mackerel. Docks, sea walls and drops offs all great areas to target a plethora of species. Snook, tarpon, jacks always main target, but sometimes we are surprised with species we don’t see often in the ICW. This weeks surprise catch was an African pompano, caught by a JR angler. Well that is the fishing reply for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines

Wilmington has been offering a good topwater speckled trout bite early in the morning. Plenty of flounder as September starts our keeper season. Plenty of grey trout and redfish as well. In Oriental, the bull reds are starting to fire up. Morning trips with popping corks and evening bottom fishing with bait have been producing some big bull redfish.
