This 6 hour fishing charter was on the tail end of a cold front. With that we had some wind and some bigger than normal seas but this crew toughed it out! There main focus was to keep what they caught so we targeted vermilion snapper and trigger fish that were in season. We also caught some red snapper that went back. All in all I good day with some great people!

Weather permitting the bottom fishing has been good seabass, triggerfish, beeliners and the cobia are starting to show up. Pogies are on the beach so the kingfish should show up soon. Inshore hfishing for reds, trout, sheepshead and black drum is good too.

Spanish Mackerel have shown up in pretty good numbers inshore and Vermillion snapper are plentiful on 6 hour trips. Cobia are due any day now. There have been some 40lb Kingfish around as well but not so plentiful as to go and target them. There have been some reports that trout and redfish are biting in the bay.

The weather has been up and down, but I've been able to move the trips to better days. There is not much open to keep in the gulf ,so I have been doing well inshore. We mostly caught mangrove snapper, and a few other species.

Well spring is working it's way here. The weather is warming up and the fishing is heating up with it. Inshore the sheepshead bite is still pretty hot on the jetties and bridge pilings. Drop a shrimp or a fiddler on a jig and hold on. Nearshore Bonita schools are boiling the waters already. Look for birds working and throw a gotcha plug into the water and hold on for a great fight. If targeting triggerfish and snapper, they are already schooled up on any bottom structure you can find. Drop a chicken rig with some cut squid, cigar minnow, or any other cut bait and you should get bit pretty quick. With the red tide affecting our southern waters, Pensacola may be a place to go. So far we have had not been impacted and our fishery is solid and looking good for the season.

The snapper and triggerfish bite are on fire right now. The Permit are schooled up on the reefs. The sharks and barracuda are putting on a show as well.

Triggerfish season started today, bite was solid and finding a day for calm seas like today is hard but the fishing is definitely picking up! Trolling is producing a few blackfin tuna and deep drop is producing some File Fish

We are fishing the inshore and nearshore reefs catching a ton of sheepshead and snappers. Fishing has been heating up with the early spring temps. Snook and redfish are getting hungry too! Book now we are booking up fast.

Fishing report from Robbie B. in Jacksonville, Florida

The fishing has been good nice seabass, beeliners and some nice triggerfish. Even had a nice 28 inch gag grouper and of course they are closed right now. Weather just won't cooperate for much offshore fishing right now. Made a couple of trips recently and one was real good the other got shortened due to 3 cases of the sea flu.

Still on the grind for white sturgeon on the Sacramento River! With high river flows more sturgeon are showing up every day! I suspect February and March are going to be 'Off the hook!
Fishing has been great when you can get out. Have been out twice this month and filled the boat cooler with plenty of huge seabass, porgy and trigger fish.

The bite has been slow this week, between finding a good weather day to go and finding people that are brave enough to withstand the waves! The Bonita are thick as usual, the blackfin tuna have moved in closer to shore within 5 miles! The squid is thick and the tuna are right behind them! Plenty of small reef fish being caught and vermillion snapper! But not a lot of fish in season at the moment! Trigger are fun to catch even though we have to release them!

Fishing report from Joe C. in Jacksonville, Florida. Book a trip with Captain Joe here.

Inshore fishing has been awesome in the skiff. With cooling water fish have been stacked up in their usual winter time haunts. Black drum now moving with the schools of reds too for some bonus catches. Offshore black seabass fishing is off the chain on the short 4/6 hour trips. Mixed with vermillion snapper and triggerfish. On the extended 10/12 hour trips trigger fish is the name of the game for meat haul. If the goal is hero or 0 lots of big wahoos have been hitting the deck with the cold weather. As always plenty of mutton snappers and usual suspects to compliment the box. Let's go fishin!
