About Your Trip

Meet up with Captain Mike Patterson around 8:00 am at Robby's Marina to launch from one of the coolest Marinas in the Florida Keys. Take one glance over the edge of the dock to see swarms of monster Tarpon crowding the marina. Trust me, nothing gets you more excited for a day out on the water than watching a 130 lb Tarpon cruise under you as you step aboard his 18' Action Craft!

After you've had a chance to admire the giant Silver King around the dock, you and Captain Mike will discuss a game plan for the day. Whether you want to try for the inshore grand slam (Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, and Snook), or if you want to fish for dinner (Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Triple Tail, etc), Capt. Mike does it all and is willing to accommodate any technique you wish to use. He comes prepared and will provide you with all the rods, tackle, live bait, or artificial lures you will need for a successful day out on the water.

If you decide to chase the sport fish, Capt. Mike will use his knowledge of the tides and weather to take you to the best Tarpon, Bonefish, or Permit flats in the area. On these beautiful clear water flats Capt. Mike will use his wireless trolling motor to stealthily sneak you across the flat to sight fishing for these fish.

For the other denizens, Capt. Mike will put his 30+ years of experience to work taking you to all the secret channels, mangroves, and honey holes to help you catch your limits on these more delicious fish.

If fly fishing is your flavor of choice Captain Mike asks that you bring your own gear, but can also provide his own flies and fly rods as backup.

So, no matter which technique you choose to apply (and combinations of these techniques and target species are possible as well), all you need to bring is your food and drink of choice, sunglasses, and a hat, and Captain Mike will take care of the rest for your Florida Keys fishing adventure!

Captain Mike is the Bomb! With over 30 years of experience Captain Mike, who usually likes to bait fish around Islamorada, was more than willing to take us flyfishing, and even had an extra reel when ours got jammed. He showed us around some beautiful tarpon and permit flats and we got tons of good shots at giant tarpon and permit. Capt. Mike clearly does it all, and his experience is hard to rival down here in the keys.

Great trip. Captain Phil did a great job not only putting us on fish all day, but multiple species, which really made the day fun. We started with speckled trout, then redfish. Along the way caught a few mangroves and even a grouper that we released as it wasn’t in season.
