Captain Nick is a backcountry and flats master. He developed his passion for fishing when he was a teenager, and has been fly fishing the water ever since. Fishing has been in his family for 4 generations. He is currently continuing the tradition by passing down all his tips to his son. If you're looking for a guide with extensive knowledge of the area, Captain Nick is your man!

Captain Nick offers flats and backcountry fishing trips in Islamorada FL. He is conscious of all the details to make sure you have a quality trip. Nick has a passion for bringing his guests to the most adventurous spots and making their day out on the water one to remember! You'll be impressed by his skill and knowledge. He is happy to entertain and instruct younger anglers, so feel free to bring your kids!

How did you get started guiding?

Actually kinda feel into it. I had a bunch a friends that became guides and kept telling me to start guiding. I was in marine salvage at the time and had been laid off. So I thought I'd try it for a summer and never looked back

What makes you different from other guides?

I think ever guide gives you a unique experience regardless if it's the same style of fishing and everyone does things different. I definitely offer a laid back trip. It's always the customers day and we always try to make their trips with us memorable

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable except for weather-related cancellations. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, bait, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
