About Your Trip

Join Captain David for an unforgettable fishing adventure in the pristine, untouched waters of Coastal Georgia! Based just south of Savannah in Richmond Hill, Captain David has been guiding anglers since 1979, bringing over four decades of experience and expertise to every trip. With a brand-new 2020 25’ Sea Pro Bay Boat powered by a reliable 2024 Yamaha outboard, and equipped with top-notch electronics and quality tackle, Captain David’s setup is built for one thing—landing big fish!

On this trip, you’ll be fishing the beautiful, secluded waters around St. Catherine’s, Ossabaw, and Sapelo Sound. This is a truly special area—undeveloped and often completely free of other boats. Captain David knows these waters like the back of his hand, leading you to the best spots where trout, redfish, sheepshead, and flounder are biting. You’ll also have the chance to reel in black drum, whiting, sharks, and weakfish, with the possibility of encountering tripletail in the warmer months. This is a year-round fishery, so no matter when you book, you’re in for a day of action!

Captain David keeps it simple, fishing with spinning rods and a mix of live shrimp and artificial lures, making this trip perfect for anglers of all experience levels. It’s easy to pick up, whether you’re a seasoned angler or casting a line for the first time. And if it’s big redfish you’re after, you’re in luck—Captain David specializes in catching monster reds, often between 10-25 pounds, with the occasional giant tipping the scales at over 30 pounds! These hard-fighting fish can be caught on live shrimp, but if you’re chasing the true bruisers, Captain David will set you up for bottom fishing with cut bait. The prime season for big reds runs from August through January, but the fishery is productive year-round.

The fishing is incredible, but so is the wildlife! As you cruise through these scenic waters, keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, eagles, alligators, manatees, and a diverse array of shorebirds. Captain David’s trips offer a true immersion into the natural beauty of Coastal Georgia, and he’s more than happy to customize your experience to fit your group’s needs. Want to spend part of the day on a deserted beach, wading, shelling, or just relaxing in paradise? Captain David can make it happen!

He’ll provide all the gear, tackle, and bait you need, plus your fishing licenses. All you need to bring are your favorite snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and a raincoat for longer trips. If you’d like to bring your own tackle, Captain David recommends a 7-8.5 foot rod with 40-pound braided line.

Looking for a unique challenge? Fly fishing for redfish, sharks, or even tarpon is also an option, adding an extra layer of excitement for those up for the thrill. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just looking to spend a fun day on the water, Captain David is here to make it a trip you’ll never forget. Coastal Georgia awaits—come see what makes this fishery so special with one of the best guides in the business!
