Spend the day fishing the productive waters of the Upper Laguna Madre with Captain Chris, where shallow flats, channels, and backwater structure offer year-round opportunities at some of the Texas coast’s most sought-after inshore species. Whether you’re looking for a quick trip or a longer day exploring more water, these trips are built to match your group and the conditions.
You’ll be targeting Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead, with techniques that can
include light tackle casting, popping corks, drifting, jigging, and bottom fishing. If you’re looking for something different, Captain Chris can also take you flounder gigging when conditions allow.
The 4-hour trip is a great option for families or groups looking to get on the water without committing to a full day—perfect for younger anglers or anyone wanting to fish and be back by midday. The 6-hour trip allows more time to cover water, potentially running as far south as Port Mansfield while targeting a full mix of inshore species.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 25’ bay boat built for these waters, with room for up to 6 anglers. It’s equipped with GPS, a live bait well, wireless trolling motor, and all the essentials needed for a smooth and productive day on the water.
All rods, reels, tackle, live and dead bait are included, and artificial lures are available upon request if that’s your preferred style. At the end of the trip, your catch will be cleaned and ready to take home.
These trips are family-friendly, and kids are welcome aboard. Be sure to bring sun protection, sunglasses, drinks, and snacks for the day. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid glass containers. A valid Texas fishing license is required prior to the trip.
