About Your Guide

Kit Carson

Independent Guide
Captain Kit is a Florida native who grew up on the water and now runs trips out of Islamorada, putting anglers on fish just minutes from the Gulf Stream. Before making the full-time move into fishing, he built a career in high-performance, fast-paced environments—an approach that now shows up in how he runs his boat: efficient, focused, and always working to stay on the bite.

He learned the fishery the right way—spending years as a mate under a seasoned Keys captain, dialing in everything from rigging baits and reading current to finding productive water across reefs, wrecks, and offshore grounds. That foundation shows in every trip, with a clear emphasis on putting anglers in the best position to succeed.

Captain Kit also competes in some of the Keys’ top tournaments, bringing that same competitive edge into his charters. It’s a mindset built around staying sharp, adapting quickly, and making the right call when conditions change.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 42’ Liberty Express, a powerful, tournament-ready boat equipped with top-tier tackle and all the comforts needed for a full day...

offshore. Docked at Robbie’s Marina, you’re just a short run from blue water—meaning more time fishing and less time getting there.

His approach is straightforward—fish hard, stay focused, and put people on fish. Whether it’s your first time offshore or you’ve been doing it for years, the goal is the same: bent rods, screaming drags, and a day you won’t forget.

About Your Trip

Fish one of the most productive offshore fisheries in the world out of Islamorada, where the Gulf Stream runs just minutes from the dock, giving you more time fishing and less time running. This is why the area is known as the Sport Fishing Capital of the World—blue water, strong current, and bait stacked along the reef edge create the perfect setup for constant action.

This listing offers both 3/4 day (6-hour) and full day
(8-hour) options, giving you flexibility based on how much time you want on the water and how dialed in you want to get.

3/4 Day Trip (6 Hours) – “Dinner & A Show”

This trip is built for variety and steady action, split into two parts

You’ll start on the reef catching live bait and targeting Snapper, Grouper, and Mackerel, working structure to fill the cooler early

Once the “dinner” is secured, you’ll head offshore to nearby wrecks and blue water for the “show,” targeting Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi, and Sharks depending on conditions

It’s a fast-paced, well-rounded trip that balances table fare with big game opportunity—perfect for families or groups looking for strong value and consistent action

Full Day Trip (8 Hours) – Maximum Range & Opportunity

With a full day, you get the range and flexibility to adjust throughout the trip, giving you the best overall shot at both numbers and size

You’ll typically start by catching live bait on the reef, then push offshore to hunt pelagic species like Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and Mahi around wrecks and current edges

Later in the day, you may return to the reef to target Snapper, Grouper, and Amberjack to round out the trip

With more time on the water, the captain can adapt to conditions, follow the bite, and give you the strongest chance at a productive day across multiple fisheries

You’ll be fishing aboard a 42’ Liberty Express, built for offshore performance and comfort with tournament-grade tackle, a powerful 900 HP setup, air-conditioned cabin, and full restroom

Everything is provided—rods, reels, bait, tackle, fishing licenses, ice, water, and full catch cleaning—so you can show up ready to fish

Whether you choose the 3/4 day or full day, this is a high-action, multi-species offshore experience where you can go from filling the cooler to battling big game fish in the same trip

If you want the full Islamorada experience—this is it
