Fly fishing the Texas Coast doesn't get much better. Sight cast to tailing redfish from the bow while Captain Gibson poles your shallow water skiff across the crystal clear Coastal Bend waters. Anglers can also expect to catch Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout and more.

On the water, Captain Gibson can best be described as a "Players' Coach". Relaxed and down-to-earth, Gibson loves jamming some tunes on the skiff as you glide the flats. That being said, he's 100% locked in and can spot a Redfish from a country mile- makes sense that he's sponsored by Smith Optics! Be prepared to have a great time, learn the Coastal Bend ecosystem, and drastically improve your casting skills.

Captain Gibson and his team fish over 100 miles of the Texas Coast, from Matagorda Bay and Port O'Connor, through San Antonio Bay, Copano Bay, Aransas Bay, and Corpus Christ Bay, all the way south to the Upper Laguna Madre.

Rest assured Captain Gibson will provide all necessary gear, from rods and reels to flies and tippet.

About Your Trip

Join Gibson for an unforgettable fly fishing experience along the Texas Coastal Bend, where shallow flats, winding marshes, and endless shoreline create some of the best Redfish habitat in the country. Whether you choose a half-day, full-day, or multi-day trip, this is a hands-on, sight-fishing adventure built around one goal: putting you in position for quality shots at Texas Redfish on the fly.

These waters are famous for their clear shallows and tailing fish, offering
the perfect setting for fly anglers of all skill levels to test their casting, refine their presentation, and experience the thrill of sight-casting to cruising Redfish. Watching a Redfish track down a fly in skinny water and eat just feet away is an experience that keeps anglers coming back again and again.

Gibson provides all rods, reels, tackle, and flies needed for the trip, making it easy for traveling anglers or first-timers to step aboard and get straight into the action. Whether you're new to fly fishing or an experienced angler looking to fine-tune your skills, the focus is always on maximizing opportunities and creating memorable encounters on the water.

These trips are typically best suited for one to two anglers, allowing for a personalized, highly focused fishing experience. With smaller groups, Gibson can prioritize ideal water conditions, adjust strategies in real time, and spend more time working productive areas where Redfish are actively feeding.

One of the things that sets this experience apart is Gibson’s relaxed approach to time on the water. Rather than watching the clock, the focus is on finding fish, making good presentations, and ensuring every opportunity is fully explored. If the bite is on and conditions are right, the day continues—because the priority is always the quality of the fishing experience, not the schedule.

All you need to bring is a valid Texas fishing license, polarized sunglasses, and snacks for the day. Everything else is handled so you can focus entirely on fishing and enjoying the Coastal Bend’s incredible scenery.

Join Gibson for a Texas fly fishing adventure where sight-casting to Redfish, shallow water stalks, and an unhurried approach come together for one of the most rewarding inshore fishing experiences on the Gulf Coast.

Went out with Cpt. Jeff's guide Cpt. Gibson. Had an absolute blast. Couldn't recommend this group enough. Put us on some great fish and Cpt. Gibson had a great attitude. You won't be disappointed. First time using Captain Experience's and was very impressed with their communication and responsiveness. Will definitely book with them again.

Recent Fishing Reports

Early January 2025
Fort Pierce has been producing very well when the weather allows us to get offshore. Sailfish are in good numbers and are being caught on a regular basis. Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, King Mackerel are also around as well and being caught in good numbers once you find them. There are also a few Wahoo being hooked into as well. The bottom fishing has been nothing short of great with limits of "flag" Lane Snapper being caught as well as some nice Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper and Cobia.
