We enjoyed our morning captainexperiences.com fishing trip in Galveston very much. Captain Brenden was enthusiastic and ready to go the moment we stepped onto the boat. One could tell that he cared very much about our experience, and time and time again he put the maximum effort into making sure our every need was taken care of. We really appreciated his knowledge and the big high five he gave us each time we caught a red fish, drum, or shark.
The boat was well maintained, and the scenery at sunrise was in a word, breathtaking. Captain Brenden was friendly with all of the other boat captains, and we enjoyed the way he joyfully networked with the other vessels to ensure we arrived at the best fishing spots. We also very much appreciated that he filleted and packaged our fish shortly after arriving back at the dock. Overall, we had a lot of fun, and we would recommend another trip with Captain Brenden to our friends.

Kind of bummed. Day of charter a large storm was coming into the Galveston area. We met the guide and discussed that there was no way to get the full day in. We were told we could switch to half day, which we really didn’t get that in either. After the trip I was told again we would get a refund for the half day charter. Never received the refund. We did catch some fish...

We were told we could switch to half day, which we really didn’t get that in either. After the trip I was told again we would get a refund for the half day charter. Never received the refund. We did catch some fish but we paid for a shark trip and took home a couple of trout. Not sure if this is normal but apparently once you lock in your stuck. Probably should have never got on the boat but after traveling 900 miles thought we would get in what we could and took their word that we could change the charter times. Definitely wasn’t a trip of a lifetime. We could have caught fish like this a mile away from the house.

When you purchase a fishing charter you’re fundamentally buying two things; first you’re paying for the boat, fuel, gear etc. then you’re paying for your captain’s time and experience on the water. For our trip, the captain was a nice enough guy but lacked the basic understanding of the Galveston fishery and the impact of the lunar/tidal conditions. The crew also lacked the basics of how to rig bait for different locations and presentations....
