Raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, he got his start fishing the bays and estuaries of South Matagorda County at just 10 years old. By age 13, he was working aboard shrimp boats—gaining early exposure to commercial fishing and life on the water.

After serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Robert returned to the Texas coast and began guiding professionally, eventually relocating to South Florida in 2008. With a second home in Marathon, he now spends his days chasing prized species like Mahi-Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Mutton Snapper, Grouper, and more.
