About Your Trip

Step aboard with Captain Robert for a reef fishing trip designed to put you right in the middle of some of the most productive nearshore and offshore structure in the region. This is a hands-on fishing experience focused on working reefs in 40 to 100 feet of water, where hard bottom, ledges, and scattered structure hold a steady mix of hard-fighting and great-eating species.

Your primary targets on this trip include yellowtail snapper, mangrove snapper,
mutton snapper, and grouper. Each species brings its own style of fishing and challenge. Yellowtail snapper are fast and responsive, often schooling above the reef and requiring light, precise presentations to stay tight on the bite. Mangrove snapper tend to hold closer to structure, delivering quick, sharp strikes and strong runs back toward cover if given the chance.

Mutton snapper and grouper are the heavy hitters of the reef, often found deeper in and around structure where patience and solid technique are key. These fish hit with power and immediately try to use the reef to their advantage, making for intense battles once hooked. Every drop has potential, and staying dialed into the structure is what leads to consistent success.

Captain Robert and the crew provide everything you need for the day, including rods, reels, bait, bottled water, and fishing licenses for up to six anglers. The gear is set up specifically for reef fishing, giving you the right balance of sensitivity and strength to handle both snapper and grouper effectively. The focus stays on fishing, learning, and making the most of every opportunity over productive bottom.

A knowledgeable mate is on board to assist throughout the trip, helping with baiting hooks, rigging lines, and landing fish. A customary 20 percent tip for the mates is not included in the trip price, and is appreciated for their hard work in keeping the day running smoothly.

From light tackle snapper action to heavy reef battles with grouper, this trip with Captain Robert delivers a full day of steady fishing over some of the most reliable structure in the area.
