About Your Trip
Whether you’re chasing your first fish or hoping to limit out on Lake Michigan trophies, Captains Joe and Grant are ready to take you on an unforgettable fishing adventure out of Manistee, MI. Their passion for fishing runs deep, and they’re excited to share that energy with every guest who steps aboard. With the latest gear, local know-how, and a serious love for Great Lakes sportfishing, this team offers a trip that’s fun, focused, and
full of opportunity.
Your charter runs aboard a 27’ 2023 Raider 240 Pro Fisherman—a Pacific Northwest-style boat that blends power, stability, and comfort. Outfitted with modern tech, reliable downriggers, and a 300HP Suzuki engine, this vessel is built to get you on the fish fast and keep you fishing efficiently. The boat has a covered cabin, onboard toilet, and is also wheelchair accessible, making it a great option for a wide range of guests. Up to 5 anglers can fish comfortably, and your First Mate will be on hand to assist throughout the trip. (Don’t forget: mates work hard—10–20% gratuity is appreciated.)
Trips run for 6 hours or until you catch your legal limit, and cover a variety of species depending on season and conditions. This part of Lake Michigan is known for world-class fishing, and you’ll have the chance to reel in:
Chinook Salmon
Coho Salmon
Lake Trout
Brown Trout
Steelhead (Rainbow Trout)
Trolling is the name of the game here, and your guides will make sure you understand the gear and get plenty of time on the rods. Whether it’s your first hookup or your 100th, the thrill of watching a downrigger release and hearing the reel scream never gets old.
What to Know Before You Go
A Michigan All-Species Fishing License is required for all anglers 17 and older. You can purchase one online as a 24-hour, 72-hour, or annual option. Your captain can assist with questions if needed.
You’ll want to dress in layers and bring a rain jacket, especially if the weather is unpredictable. A hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and polarized sunglasses are highly recommended.
Snacks are welcome on board, and you can bring drinks (just avoid hard liquor and glass bottles). Alcohol is allowed in moderation.
At the end of your trip, all of your fish will be cleaned, filleted, rinsed, and bagged by the crew—just bring a cooler to take your catch home.
Kid-friendly and family-friendly, this charter is a great way to get outdoors and make memories on one of North America’s most iconic fisheries. Whether you're a seasoned angler or completely new to the sport, Joe and Grant are ready to show you what Manistee fishing is all about.
