Ever since he was a youngster, Captain Ronny has loved to fish. It's no wonder since his father was also hooked on the sport. Growing up, Captain Ronny and his parents made many trips to South Padre Island spending everyday out on the bay with bait and pole. After spending years participating in and winning fishing tournaments, Captain Ronny decided it was time to make the Luguna Madre area his stompin' grounds and take his love of fishing to a new level.
After getting his Captain's license, Captain Ronny began his charters and has been making dreams come true for expert and novice fishermen alike. Located at Sea Ranch Marina, his charter specializes in bay guide fishing on a 22' Shallow Sport boat.
Booking half day or full day fishing trips with Captain Ronny, you can expect to catch redfish, trout or flounder. Captain Ronny has been a guide in many fishing tournaments and his customers have won numerous trophies throughout the Texas Gulf region. With the bait and tackle supplied, as well as ice and plenty of cold water, all you have to bring is your fishing license with a saltwater stamp and high expectations. Families are always welcome, from the youngest novice to the most experienced angler, seven days a week and all year long. Captain Ronny is dedicated to doing what it takes to make sure you have an experience you will never forget. It pays to go with an experienced guide fisherman who knows the waters of Laguna Madre and where to find the big ones. Enjoy a day with Captain Ron as you adventure through Lower Laguna Madre! Your day out with Captain Ron will see you drifting the shallow waters that can be up to 3’ deep. You will be fishing with both artificial and live bait, as well as trying anchored up fishing. Captain Ron will help you target Redfish, Flounder, Seatrout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead throughout your 5-hour (half-day) or 8-hour (full day) adventure. For these trips, Captain Ron uses a 24’ Shallow Sport bay which can accommodate 4 anglers. Captain Ron will provide all rods, reels, and tackle. I booked this trip for my dad & brothers as a fathers day gift. There were some issues with guide availability for the weekend that we wanted to come but the girl who is in charge of that was super helpful in finding a trip that would work for us. By chance of luck, they got paired with Ron & in their words it was the best fishing trip any of them have ever been on. Ron was energetic, friendly, supportive & fun. He was not going to let them leave without catching the maximum amount of fish allowed. My dad & brothers are not the type to do reviews & they are not easily won over but they specifically made it a point to be sure i made a review to let everyone know how amazing Ron was.
