Joey developed a passion for fishing at a young age, learning the ropes from his dad and “Gramps.” At just 15, Joey was hired as an independent mate, one of the youngest ever on a well-known fishing charter boat in Destin Harbor. Then, Joey decided to obtain his 100 Ton Captain License at the age of 18.

In 2013, after being the captain of several other vessels, Joey decided to open his own charter fishing company. Captain Joey prides himself on safety, service and customer satisfaction. He looks forward to providing each customer with a memorable experience on the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay!

Captain Joey has the following credentials to run a safe and smooth charter:

100 Ton Captain License
USCG Certified
Maritime Consortium Drug Card
CPR Certified

If you don’t book with Jayson you shouldn’t even come to Destin. You might as well cancel your entire trip if you don’t book with Jayson. I’d rather spend 4 hours fishing with Jayson than 7 days at the beach because I’d spend those 7 days seeing Jayson crash through the waves catching fish as big as a small child. If it ain’t Jay-son I ain’t gonna pay-son!

We were set up to go out with Joey, but there was a last minute change to Captain Taylor. He was a very knowledgeable and patient guide and was great with the kids. Weather was cool and cloudy to start, but he eventually put us on some fish and was a great family experience. It was a catch and release trip which was slightly disappointing but hey, still had a blast. Would definitely book again,...

The captain was very rude to us the entire trip. He asked my son to help with a shark fishing rod and a small backlash occurred. When he saw the backlash he flipped out and said you just damaged $50 worth of monofilament line and made a big deal out of it instead of just fixing it which only took minutes. When he was asked questions he was very short with answers. He was also reluctant to rig up other rods with bait to help pass the time while we waited for a shark bite. He quite oftentimes made us feel like we we're constantly in his way. Being a smaller boat there weren't too many places to stand. To top it off he couldn't find any fish and wanted to use our charter time to catch baitfish to use on a future charter. What a waste of time. Save your money and find a real professional.
