In my early childhood, my father brought me fishing as a small child. Ever since I can remember I enjoyed the fishing experience that my father gave to me. I had my first boat when I was 16 years old. Since then I have had boats as big as 32'. I began this family business as a tribute to my dad who passed away a few months before I was able to do so. I have named the business after him as he was known as Papa Bear to all his children and grandchildren,. I have my son Michael as my first mate and fishing companion. I have always loved being out on the water fishing with my family that is why I became a charter captain so I can pass this on to other people to enjoy. I fish out of lake worth inlet and target areas from the breakers hotel to Jupiter Inlet. We offer a variety of trips from 4 hours to 8 hours. The 6 hour and 8 hour trips include some trolling for mahi and tuna. The 4 hour trips are for bottom fishing the reefs and wrecks. I also give the option to troll on these trips for an extra 100 fuel allowance due to the increase in fuel costs. This will give an hour of trolling outside the reefs for game fish like mahi, tuna, sailfish, kingfish and wahoo. We also offer live bait fishing at an additional cost. This technique involves kite fishing, or slow trolling,and or drifting baits at a variety of depths. We are trying to entice something big to come hit one of the baits that the fish are use to seeing out there. One thing we guarantee is that you will have a fun filled experience with us and we will do our best to put you on fish that you will reel in yourself. Book a trip with us and come have a great time. Blue marlin is my biggest but my favorite fish to catch is a sailfish. I enjoy the battle and the show that they put on. They are a remarkable and beautiful fish to see.

If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?

Mahi or grouper Either one of these are super tasty and can be cooked in a variety of ways.

What’s your favorite band?

Styx and Foreigner are my 2 favorite. I have seen both bands over a half dozen times each. It was great when they were on the same venue.

How did you get started guiding?

I always had a boat since I can remember and I would take my friends and family out fishing. After retiring from a career in the fire service, I decided to make a second career out of taking people from all over the world out fishing. I enjoy seeing the smile that is on their face when they land a big fish. It is my passion to be out on the water especially when it is with my son. We make a great team and we do catch fish.

We have chartered a lot of boats in the past, but this was by far the best! And seriously… our last was 3 1/2 weeks ago and they remembered us from our catch on another boat!

If you’re looking for an unforgettable day on the water, Papa Bear Too Charters is absolutely the way to go! From start to finish, the experience was incredible. The captain was knowledgeable, professional, fun, and made everyone feel comfortable the entire trip.My SIL gets seasick and somehow didn’t. Ha! You can tell they truly care about giving their guests an amazing experience — not just another charter trip.

The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the attention to detail was top-notch. Phone communication before the charter helped us all figure out the best way to spend the day catching fish both trolling and stationary. Everything was provided as well as ice cold drinks, etc! Whether you’re experienced or brand new, they make the trip enjoyable for everyone. The scenery, the atmosphere, and the memories we made were priceless.

What really stood out was how personable and genuine the crew was. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time possible, and it honestly felt like spending the day with friends who know exactly how to create a perfect adventure.

Highly recommend Papa Bear Too Charters to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be booking again!

10/10 had an awesome time Rudy & his son Mike were completely amazing! I highly recommend those two fellas! We had an awesome time fishing, learning new skills as this was our first time deep sea fishing. & my daughter caught her biggest fish to date! So overall three happy girls and lots of great memories to tell everyone back home!
